Excellent Restaurant. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. The parking, although they have valet, is difficult. Overall a great experience.

Great food. While visiting in Tampa we found this restaurant on Citysearch and gave it a try. We were not disappointed. Pasta was very simple, but very good, as was the fish (Red Grouper). Other dishes looked excellent as well. Service was very good, and the price was actually reasonable for what we had (wine, dinner, desert). Be sure and try the house dressing, it's incredible and the server mentioned you can get it in the bottle from them.

This north Tampa institution offers simple, but well-done, northern Italian dishes at a moderate price.. The Scene
It may be off the beaten path, but it's a favorite of the locals. Iavarone's has been serving steaks and Italian specialties since 1948. Elegantly casual, Iavarone's can accommodate families, couples, or business diners.

The Food
The menu of Northern Italian pastas and grilled specialties is moderately priced, and offers a wide variety of choices. Appetizers feature shrimp piccata, grilled shrimp, and Italian sausage, to name a few. There are a variety of salads; leading the list is the vine-ripe tomato salad, topped with gorgonzola and a basil vinaigrette.

What to Order
The standard steaks (filet, Porterhouse, strip, and prime rib) are offered as well as grilled chicken, pork chops and fresh catch of the day. The sauteed entrees are a nice change of pace, and can be topped with different sauces. Pastas are all simple, but nicely done.

Pleasant Evening. I went to this restaurant based on the Citysearch reviews I read, and I was very happy with it! The wait was twice as long as they said, but it was worth it. The dark wood decor was nice, and the bathrooms clean. We ordered Chicken Milano and Grouper Oscar, both of which were so yummy! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, which is important to me.
