Went there with friends for Mothers Day. Wonderful food, and wonderful personal service! Highly recommend!
Always Great.
After trying all the options for Chinese restaurants dine in/take out, Golden Inn is hands down the best!
Service is always top notch and the food is consistantly great. Only once did I find that my food was not what I expected once I got home with it and after a brief call to the restaurant I was assured that it would be made right the next time I ordered. I didn't even have to remind them the next time I ordered It was made better than right.
I love that they always give you something sweet with every meal:)
Excellent Quality Food and Outstanding Service.
A neighbor recommended Golden Inn as a great place for lunch buffet in the Lutz/LOL/Wesley Chapel area. It is well hidden in a strip mall right near the new location of The Room Exchange, a furniture consignment store. I tried the food and was pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the food and the warmth of the atmosphere.
The lunch buffet always has eggrolls, egg foo young, white and fried rice, vegetable lo mein, and honey bananas. There are usually four main entree dishes with Bourbon chicken and General Tso's chicken almost always offered. Fish dishes and those with seasonal vegetables like beans or eggplant show up frequently. The food is fresh, hot, and delicately spiced. The Eggdrop and Hot and Sour soups are always fresh and delicious.
Kathy, the owner, will know your name after the second time you visit, and the waiters and waitresses will have your drink by the time you have a seat. The service is informal yet polite and the staff clearly values their returning customers.
I know this sounds like a review from an owner or staff member, but I'm not. I'm a loyal yet discriminating customer who knows an excellent service business when I experience one. Dinner prices are not cheap, but you get every dollar worth of value at Golden Inn.
My commentary on the food poisoning "review" - I've eaten there weekly for over two years and we've had many dinners with no problems. If one were offered recourse from an insurance settlement with only a doctor's visit, why not do that and solve the problem? Writing a complaint in the form of a review only hurts your credibility and insults any customer reading it.
4 out of 6 of us felt sick after eating take-out from restau. 4 of us felt sick this past Saturday, 11-14, after eating their sesame chicken and bourbon chicken with house lomein. I called the restaurant to complain and while the host felt bad and tried to be helpful the manager was all business, never apologized and just said if it was food poisoning we should go to the doctor and her insurance would cover it. It was 70.00 for a dinner that made us sick for two days. Not a coincidence either as one of us ate it the second day and felt sick within the hour. We wont' be going there again
Despite its far-flung location and low-key decor, the restaurant's expert kitchen produces excellent, fresh Chinese favorites..
The Scene
Tucked away in a suburban shopping center called--maybe a little too self-importantly--the Willow Bend Towne Centre, Golden Inn is easy to miss if you're not looking for it. For one thing, it's in Lutz. The restaurant's decor is modest--oak booths, elementary blue-and-beige color scheme, chandeliers that look like they came from Home Depot--but unusually tidy and clean. At noon, the restaurant features a big buffet located in back, priced at a very reasonable $4.95.
The Food
Typical Chinese favorites, but very well-done.
What to Order
It would be hard to go wrong here with anything: Vegetables are fresh, fried dishes crisp; the rice is newly made--not warmed over; and the homemade noodles are delicious. Especially good among a number of excellent dishes on the menu are the eggrolls--not some limp, greasy version, but crisp veggies carefully wrapped and fried golden; they crumble and crunch in your mouth. Another standout was the egg foo young, usually a terrible disappointment, but Golden Inn's version was a winner. It looked like a sand-dollar size circle of egg and fresh veggies, so light it seemed almost like a souffle. And do try dessert, it was swell, too.
Best Chinese restuarant in the Tampa bay by far!. When I walked into the Golden Inn, I instantly had a good vibe from the atmosphere and staff. The service was fantastic because you can tell that they have been very well trained. Now onto the food... The best chinese food I have ever had! I have been to several other take-out/ dine in restaurants in search of one that put quality into their food. I ordered the Seafood Delight, coming with tender, full shrimp with delicious scallops and crabmeat, sauteed veggies, and in a suculent chef specality white sauce. Not only their dinner was great, but a killer appetizer to go for is the Crabmeat Rangoon, the best that I have ever had in my life! For dessert, I was surprised by a complimentary dish of Honey Banana, which were highly above my satification level. If you haven't tried this place out, I would strongly recommend this joint.
