Horrible Horrible Experience – Good Day Ms Kohl,
I apologize for the lateness in this email; I was on vacation till after Jan 1st, then I became extremely ill with the flu. This is the first opportunity to let you know what occurred at one of your salons. On Sunday, December 11, 2011, my daughter and I had an appointmeHnt for massages at your beachside spa. We checked in and were taken to your changing area and then on to our 90 minute massages this all happened very quickly. After our massages we both went into your dry sauna. I was in for approximate 3 minutes and I stepped out and took a shower to cool down and then went back in for another 2 minutes. Upon leaving I noticed right away I could not see out of my left eye I was in pain and my vision in both eyes was blurred. I went to the mirror and removed my contacts. That did not make the left eye any better. It actually made it worse, because I had to pry the contact off my eye. After removing the contact I actually thought there was another one in my eye because the pain was so horrific and my vision was so blurred. As we proceed to checkout I was in agony and explaining what happen to my eye. Mentioning my contacts and being in the sauna. At the same time there was confusion and an issue with my sister in laws gift card. That seems to be the more pressing issue at the time. One of the girls did offer the phone number of a walk-in clinic. Needless to say the clinic was closed and my pain was getting worse. I ended up in the emergency room with a severely damaged cornea. This was due to my contacts drying out and adhering to my cornea due to the dry sauna heat. There is no signage posted any where in your facility at the time I was there that instructs/informs you of the dangers of wearing contacts in the sauna nor to remove contacts before entering the dry sauna. None of your staff said anything about the dangers. I had no idea what could happen or how dangerous it is to wear contacts in a sauna. This was only my experience in one. This lack of information caused me great pain and suffering not to mention money. I do have health insurance so luckily that deferred some of the cost. I am asking for my deductable, eye doctor visits and the meds be paid by your company due to this negligence in lack of information. The experience ruined a very important Holiday event and I lost time from work never mind the more than 10 days of pain and sleepless nights. Please post signs and educate all of your staff so this unfortunate incident does not happen to someone else. Attached are copies of the hospital bill, eye doctor bills and medication bills. Please contact me as soon as possible so this matter maybe resolved.

I apologize for the delay in responding to your email, but I was out of town. I can empathize with your situation as a contact wearer myself; however, It is the responsibility of the prescribing physician to inform you of all the precautions of wearing contact lenses. I would suggest you contact the doctor's office concerning your contact lenses to discuss your concerns.
I'm sorry that you felt rushed at the begining of your service. We do recommend that our clients arrive at least 20 minutes prior to their service to have ample time to enjoy all of our locker room and lounge amenities. We make these recommendations in our brochure, website and when scheduling your appointment.
Thank you again for your suggestions and your business. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us.
Great Haircut and hospitality at Imperial Salon & Spa – I bought a winter home in Florida in 2007, looked long and hard for a good, up to date stylist and salon. I've tried another that I really was not happy with one New Haven Ave.
I read the reviews and checked the salon for stylist that cut curly hair (wavy/curly) as you need a special stylist for that.
They had one that trained in New York City, and knew the Ouidad styling method. I made an appointment and absolutely loved the cut.
I went back for my second cut before flying home. I can't wait to go back this fall. I can't say enough good things about them. Love everything about them.
Horrible dye job – Went in for a color and cut for an up and coming wedding I had to be in and came out looking like a freak of nature!!! My hair turned out jet black and orange!!! I repeatedly told the stylist my hair grabbed dark colors and stressed that I had to be in an out of town wedding in a few days!!! The salon had a very blasé attitude and refused to refund my money for the bad color job. They offered to recolor but I had neither the time due to having to go out of town or would let them touch my hair after it being screwed up so badly!!!! I would never set foot in this salon again!!!!
just by luck – i took a chance and called imperial salon and spa on this saturday and ended up with a stylist named SAMANTHA she was great!!!! She looked so young and and trandy i didnt think she would know what i was asking for (im a middle aged women that wanted something easy and young I WANT 5 MIN> HAIR) it was better then i wanted. SHES GREAT!!!
Best Spa in Central Florida – Imperial Salon and Spa was excellent, even when I called for the first time to set up a hot stoned massage, the girls on the phone were very polite and informative. The staff was very nice and inviting. If you have any questions they are more than willing to take care of you. The hot stoned massage that I scheduled was very professional and the massue was very talented. I enjoyed the relaxing music and the quientness of the spa. They also have a lovely water fountain that puts your mind and body at ease, especially during the massage. I really enjoyed that. I loved my experience so much that I set up a pedicure and manicure for the very next day. I am very fortunate that I found this wonderful spa when I moved here from California. I am there new loyal customer!!
very professional staff-highly qualified-beautiful facility – I found Imperial when I moved from New York. I was pleasantly greeted and escorted to a lavish locker room with steam & sauna. After changing into my comfy robe and slippers, I was offered a beverage and seated in the "tea" room. After a short while I was brought back for my massage and it was amazing. The therapist really knew what she was doing, and left me feeling very relaxed and eager for my facial, which was equally professional and thorough. After a delicious lunch I had an amazing manicure and very relaxing pedicure. The nail techs were very knowledgeable. (My nail polish lasted so long!!) Their highly trained salon staff is a very gifted bunch who are entertaining as well as professional. I have been back several times and have come to know the Imperial family as a great group of extremely talented technicians. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair & nails since finding Imperial, I would never trust my services to anyone else! (They even have a doctor who comes in to do botox & restalyne!!) With a salon and spa of this caliber, some appointments are bound to get mixed up, but the staff always makes it right and I've never been dissatisfied. The owner is an exceptional person who has a strong relationship with her staff. Their boutique is unique & amazing and frequent visits are necessary so you don't miss out!! They carry everything from men's jeans & hot-lookin' shirts to ladies dresses & cavalli glasses, kippy's belts, Kathy van zeeland purses, sky shirts and dresses, even bob hale dresses. What's really great is it's all beautiful and unique, and ordered in small quantities so you don't see yourself coming and going! I've seen these clothes on stars! Nowhere else around here can do that! Their prices are more than resonable for the services provided. Remember, the bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of the low price. Imperial rocks! And anyone who disagrees hasn't been there!
Rude Stylist, Long Wait – At the suggestion of my friend, I went to Imperial Salon & Spa to have my hair and makeup done for a special event. It was a terrible experience. While the receptionists at the front desk were friendly, my hair stylist was unbelivably rude. She acted like I was causing her trouble when I told her that I had a specific style in mind, replying with, "Well, it's going to look horrible by the evening, but whatever." Afterwards, I had an appointment to get my makeup done. I was kept in the "wait room", and the makeup artist didn't start until 30 minutes after the scheduled time. My makeup was nicely done, but my hair was a disaster. I couldn't believe the ridiculous amount of money they charged as well. If anything, go for the makeup application, but stay far, far away if you need your hair done.
