It's a cheap trip, good for first time experience.. We bought the Groupon for a half-day fishing trip. It's a lot for your money, however there are several people that take advantage of this. With the Groupon deal we paid $56 for the two of us to go out for half the day. This is a much better deal than ones out of Balitmore that charge a minimum of $600 for the day. The boat seats up to 100 people and they pack them in like sardines!! It's a larger boat so it doesn't get tossed around as much as some of the catamarans. It's a 2 hour boat ride to the fishing spot then if not a lot of people are catching then they move the boat. You can't fish while the boat is moving. You get a crash course upon departure from the dock and there are two deck hands that run around trying to help people. The problem for us was our lines kept getting tangled up with everyone's lines. We caught some small Sea Bass but since they weren't in season we had to throw them back. They did serve lunch, which is included int he cost of the trip in addition to unlimited drinks and 2 beers. Few people actually ate lunch, though. Most spent their time "chumming" the water with their breakfast. We were full on the boat and at the end of the day only 5 fish were keepers.

Charged for tickets on a date they knew they weren't sailing. My husband has always mentioned wanting to go deep sea fishing. I really wanted to take him for his birthday. Now we can't afford to charter our own boat for just the two of us (otherwise I would have done this). I read all the reviews on every different site about Miss cape Canaveral deep sea fishing. I thought that despite all the bad reviews that we would give it a shot. I payed the extra for the stern spot, so we'd be in a better spot and not be quite so packed in if there were a lot of people on the boat that day. I wasn't very concerned about the food as neither my husband or I eat that much.

The sad thing is I can't speak to any conditions on the boat at all. I bought my tickets online almost a month ahead of time. I got the email confirmation back from them about the tickets and my credit card was charged. I called a few weeks later to confirm the tickets and the sail time (I was going to call earlier, but a sick pet and emergency vet visits happened. Sometimes life just gets busy). The woman I talked to on the phone was fairly pleasant, after the kinda snippy phone greeting when she first picked up. At first she could find our ticket reservation information at all. I had to pull up my invoice and tell her the date I purchased it before she was able to find it. Then she informs me that they are not sailing on either of the dates we had available because of a coast guard inspection. I can understand a coast guard inspection means you can't sail that date, but she said they have known about the inspection before I placed my ticket order.

They should not have charged me for tickets knowing that they were not going to sail.

I am now left with no gift for my husband for his birthday and I was so excited despite all the reviews that we would at least have a good time together on this outing. I am rather relieved in some ways that we will not be aboard this ship. I would hate to see what it is run like when they aren't even considerate enough to make sure they don't charge their customers for, in essence, a product that does not exist.

The woman took my information to refund me the money for the tickets and I was informed it should be back on my card in 72 hours. I missed a few of the reviews saying they had a hard time getting refunds from this company. Now I am anxiously awaiting the refund hoping I don't have problems with that as well.

I left two (stars) for rating as I can not speak to the conditions on the ship. Maybe things on the boat are run better than in the office...

Better times on another boat!. I have gone on Miss cape Canaveral before the trip was good, but not better than being on the Orlando Princess or the Canaveral Star both from the same company. At the last minute we picked the Miss cape and I had two people with me that had never gone deep sea fishing and took off of work to go with me. We got there early and we were happy because the boat wasn't too crowded, there was some room to move about. The boat left the port about 15 minutes late and we were fine with that, we made it out of the port and then the captain said it would be an hour and forty five to fifty five minutes till we got to the first spot. When we got to the first spot the captain drove the boat in circles and finally dropped anchor about 30 minutes after getting to the fishing spot. He gave us the go ahead to drop our lines so we did and started getting bites from fish that belonged in a fish bowl in a kids room. not even 10 minutes after starting to fish the captain called us to pull up our lines. He then drove the boat in circles, putting us only a few feet from where we were last time(this known because of a buoy next to the boat) and reset the anchor this time only taking about 20 minutes. We dropped our lines again still fish the small fish with the exception of two decent sized flounders. About an hour later we were told to pull up our lines we were heading back because of a medical emergency. With the transfer of the passenger to the coast guard vessel our trip back home was almost two and a half hours. We got back 3 hours earlier than we should have. We only fished for a little over an hour and they offered us the option of paying $20 to go back out for the night trip, the next day trip or $40 for any other trip.

My uncle and I chose the night trip and our friend chose not to go back out. We made our reservation for the night trip and went home to rest, around 5:30 Miss Cape called us saying they were not going out tonight but we could still go out tomorrow for $20. Neither of us could take off of work again to go out the next day. So we ended up pay $80 a person to fish for just over an hour and they gave us an offer and then canceled that on us.

This was not my first trip with them but it was my last. $80 for over four times as much riding in a boat than fishing is awful. Next time we go out we will go with the Canaveral Star or Orlando Princess again, You should as well.

Go to websites with more experiences. DO NOT GO ON Miss Canaveral BAD BAD BAD business, dishonest!. see TripAdvisor for long version. Beyond your imagination bad; from overran from CUCAROCHAS, no water to drink or clean yourself. lie about the bait; try to stay out of their way fishing, they're beggers for tips-they gotta beg cause they su ck for service. Captain too ALL the Coffee, customer didn't get ANY COFFEE. Hmm, what's up with that. NO breakfast at all as promised, no tea, coffee, soda or even Water as promised. I hate the way I was treated. IDIOT on my forehead. Honestly, I wouldn't go if they paid me $100 bucks, really! Deep breath!! Anyway, its a danger zone, and I'm not a disgruntled worker. Live in Missouri.

Awesome time big fish great crew!!. After much consideration I finally let my boys talk me in to taking them deep sea fishing. We decided to ask our bell hop who he would recommend. He said try The Miss Cape Canaveral. They have been here the longest and he said that it was a family atmosphere on the boat. We decided to give it a shot.

What a time we had. I want to say Thank you to Captain Billy. He did such a great job and made sure we caught some fish. He even let my boys sit behind the steering wheel. They thought this was awesome.

I have never seen my boys more excited. The mates took such good care of us. Making sure our poles had bait and our fish were put on ice. I would highly recommend this a great family experience.

I will be back next year. This time I will catch the biggest catch.
