This is a great salon A+

I went to this salon for 4 years before moving out of state. Jimmy Keats was my stylist and he is talented, honest, and warm. I would bring in photos and hairstyles I wanted and he could recreate them exactly, or be honest and tell me that cut will not work with my very thick hair. It got to where I would just let him cut whatever he felt like because I trusted him completely and was never disappointed. He moved out of state a month after I did and I've never found a stylist I like as much as him. Does anybody know where he is now? I would actually travel to be able to get one of his haircuts again! I also got pedicures and massages there and both were quite nice. I talked my husband into getting his hair cut there as well. He even booked a few regular massages as well. I would recommend The Strand to anyone looking for a peaceful environment, talented stylists, and a kind staff.

Best Aveda Salon in Gainesville!

This is the best salon in Gainesville! I highly recommend it to everyone. I see Courtney and my sister sees Rebecca. Courtney is a senior stylist so prices are higher, but Rebecca's prices are lower and still a very good quality. If you like Aveda this is the place to go!

Sarah Druetta is Awesome!

Funny that I was going to write a good review about Sarah at the Strand too! She's the best stylist I have ever gone to. I like the way she actually customizes your cut rather than just chopping it by the book. She really knows what she's doing with color too. If you are in Gainesville and want the best hairstylist ever...............go to The Strand Salon and ask for Sarah Druetta! You won't be sorry.

great chill atmosphere

This was my first time going to The Strand, and I really liked it. The placeis small and quaint. My hairdresser's name was Sarah. She was supposedy the jr. stylist, but she was amazing! She cut and styled my hair in an hour. My hair is really thick and hadn't been cut in a while, so it was pretty unruly, but she did a great job. The other people were nice as well. They also use Aveda products, which I really like. All in all it was a GREAT experience, and I highly recommend it

Nice salon with unpleasant owner

I had been going to the Strand for the past two years enjoying every experience until I noticed a sudden drop in stylists including mine. I always had a wierd vibe from the owner. When I would come into the salon and she was at the front dest I was rarely greeted and often ignored. When other staff members where around the vibe was totally different and I was treated extremely nice. Beautiful salon with high skilled stylist...a bit pricey but you always leave feeling beautiful. I haven't decided if I want to continue to support a business with an owner like this.
