A safe, family-like center you and your children will love

by AmDa

Learning Tree is a small, privately owned center and is a place where your child will be safe and be loved. This center has been providing quality childcare for over 30 years.

There are two reviews that need to be addressed as they are unfounded and a misrepresentation.

If a parent ever has a problem, we try to help them in any way possible. We have not had any parent express any type of concerns as those in this review. If these claims were even remotely true, why would the parent go back after the first day? Due to this, this parent probably actually left because they were being asked to pay for services provided. This is common in the daycare industry, unfortunately. It is also unfortunate that such persons can now use the internet as a tool for slander.

As for the review of the alleged previous employee, none of these claims hold any truth.

We have an employee (always have...and, I've been with the Center for 24 years) who cleans the Center ( which includes bathrooms). We also have and have always had pest control and children are not left unattended. Ever. These claims are simply lies.

The children are changed regularly and a change log is kept. If this teacher did not change the diapers of the children in her care, she would have been counseled and this would be documented in her file. If this continued, she would have been removed from working with diapered children and possibly teminated.

There has not been any changes in staff for well over a year so any previous employee would be REALLY PREVIOUS. When an employee leaves, their reason for leaving is always documented. In the last several years, "previous employees" who did not move away, decide to stay home with a newborn baby, leave to teach in public school, or leave due to noncompliance with training regulations, were what we call "no shows." These are employees who choose to just not show up or call. We record that as job abandonment. This is also called quitting. These same people frequently file an unemployment claim and try to collect unemployment. Their claim is denied because they abandoned their job. Sometimes they become angry with me or the Center over this. Some of them then spread lies and apparently now post false information.

As for the NAEYC, that is a "nonprofit organization that is a membership association for those working with and on behalf of children from birth through age 8. Membership is open to all individuals who share a desire to serve and act on behalf of the needs and rights of all young children."

The NAEYC is not the State of Florida and they do not license childcare centers. We are licensed by the State of Florida. We are inspected regularly and follow ALL ratio guidelines set forth by our licensing agency, which is the State of FL.

It is adviseable to speak what you know and learn about what you don't. Slander will not be tolerated and will be forwarded to the appropriate legal authority should this continue.

This is a quality center and does not deserve misrepresentation. Anyone who needs childcare should give this center a visit. See for yourself.

Beware this daycare

by point blank

I did not even want to give this center one star much less anything else. I am actually a previous employee and HIGHLY disadvise anyone from enrolling their child at this center. Although there are a few good workers here most have no idea what they are doing and I could not work there more than a few weeks. Young children left in soggy full diapers, bathrooms never cleaned, bugs in the kitchen and the children are left unattended fairly often by the director!!! Most important to me is the ratio system set up by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for the safety and social-emotional benifit of your child...is completely disregarded. They are the absolute worst center in the state of Florida. Please, for the sake of your child, steer clear! That is the honest truth.

Beware of This Child Care Center

by Pinkgurl83

Hello All,

Do not put your child in this child care center. I had my child there for 7weeks and it was the worst thing i have ever done. I went there at lunch time one day and the teachers were yelling at the children and there was a 2yr old eating out of the garbage and nobody was watching the child. My child was picked up a several times and was soaking wet and when i asked if they change the child in the afternoons they just told me that the teachers were supposed to do that before the child came to the carpet area. Also the play ground has equipment that i played on as a child in the 80's and the equipment is rusted and looks to be a little bit dangerous. Don't put your child in the daycare.
