NEVER USE THIS GROOMER!!

by Munde

I have been using this groomer for almost 2 years and I have 6 dogs that I take every 2 months. I have never had a problem with Kim, the owner, until yesterday. I picked my 6 dogs up and everything looked fine but when I got home I found blood on the carpet and found that one of my Shih Tzu's bottom right eyelid had been cut about 1/4 of an inch long and was now bleeding, I got the bleeding stopped and called Kim. Kim wanted me to bring her back up there so she could see because she said she did not know this had happened. I took her back there and she saw it and said she didnt even know that happened and it will heal. I informed her I was going to the vet to be sure and she said that my vet was the most over priced and eccentric vet in town and goes to the extreme. The vet said that she needed stitches OR he could remove the cut part of the eyelid and then her eyelid would not be shaped correctly, he recommended the stitches. I agreed to the stitches which took 2 on the inside of eyelid and 3 on the outside. I asked the vet about how much this will cost so I can tell Kim, he said "about" $145.00 so I called Kim. She again proceeded to tell me that she knew the vet would do that and this is only going to irritate her eye more and she did not need to go to the vet! She said, but you can come get a check whenever you want. The vet called me within 45 minutes and my baby was ready to come home and the bill with meds and that cone collar around her neck came to $202.82. I went to get the monies from Kim and she told me again that I did not need to take her to vet and that he is known for over pricing and over doing things. She handed me back the $140.00 check I paid her and a $5 bill and said this is all I am going to pay and I DO NOT have to do that as she informed me that she is NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES. I again told her I was not mad at her that I am sure it was an accident but I believe you should pay the entire vet bill regardless of what you think my dog needed you are not a vet. She got very rude and her attitude was horrible, so I told her I would never come back and she said OH, I would never cut your dogs again anyway because I would be to nervous that you will run to the vet for just anything. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN! If you love your animal PLEASE never go to this place.. I am going to see if I have any legal action against her. My vet reduced his fee to the $145.00 that Kim paid as long as I find a new groomer even though I was willing to pay whatever it cost. I have a GREAT vet.

Horrible Customer Service!

by AZNativegirl

Today I took two of my dogs (lab mixes) to the Blue Poodle Pet Salon. Boy, do I wish I had read the NEVER AGAIN review prior to making my appointment, and just stuck to waiting a few days to take my dogs to their normal groomer. We had almost identical experiences.

I took my two dogs into this salon to get groomed. My dogs are not use to being in a kennel, and were skittish when trying to get them in there. THe owner (Kim) was impatient with me and my dog and rolled her eyes when my dog cowered in a corner. Looking back, I should have left then,

When I came to pick them up (3 hours later), I was told the cost was different then what I was quoted. After I paid, I asked the receptionist how they determine the rate, as I was quoted different on the phone. Kim interrupted and loudly said that I should have told her my dog was a Chow. I calmly said that neither of my dogs are chows, but lab mix. She said that on the phone they said the cost was approximate, I did not argue this, although this is untrue. On the phone I was very specific that my dogs were lab mix, had long hair, gave the weight of each dog, and told them that they were shedding badly and that was why I wanted to bring them in.

She continued to yell that if I had gone anywhere else, I would have paid well over $100 and she turned them around quick (3 hours is quick?). I tried to diffuse the situation by saying I was not trying to argue, just simply asking a question. She said yes you are, you have been complaining since you came in here.

I turned to walk away, and she followed me out the door yelling. I told her I would never come back nor refer her, and that she needed to check her demeanor with her customers, and she said "No I don't, I am the busiest groomer in town!".

I left her shop in utter shock and without a reciept, just like NEVER AGAIN. She yelled at me like this in front of my 10 year old boy. If she treats me like this, how does she treat defenseless animals?

I would rather pay more money at another groomer and recieve respectful service, then pay less (per her statement) and be treated like she was doing me a favor.

Please do not support this business. You are asking for heartache if you do.

Love them!

by KittyBeth

We had used other grooming/boarding businesses in town. But a friend was so impressed with Blue Poodle, we thought we'd give them a try. We haven't taken our little chichi anywhere else since we found Blue Poodle. You can see they truly love animals when you watch for a while. They treat your pet as they would their own, and they are willing to go the extra mile if your pet needs to be pampered a bit with a special diet or any other needs. We have boarded our chichi several times with them and he always is waiting for us - freshly bathed and groomed and ready to be picked up. All of this special attention for your pet at a reasonable price, and the bath is included in the price when your pet boards with them. They have recently moved to a new location just past Lowe's. You should give them a try. I recommend them highly!!!

Never Again!

by DoGLvR

Horrible experience at this salon. My appointment was at 10:00 and I arrived at 9:45. The person at the front desk told me it would be four hours and escorted myself, my husband, and my dogs to the kennel area. I told her that they had never been in a kennel nor been separated before. While my husband was trying to put them in the kennel she shoved his hand. Once in the kennel she said she would call when they were finished. At 1:45 (almost four hours) we arrived to pick up the dogs because we had been shopping in the area. The person at the front desk told us one dog was ready to go and we could take her. The lady who was grooming was standing behind this lady and asked if she could call us when they were ready (in a very rude voice). When my husband asked at what point the other two dogs were at the lady rolled her eyes and walked away. The receptionist said that it should be no later than 2:30 so my husband and I went shopping and waited on the phone call. When we finally called them at 3:45 they said they were ready and we could come pick them up. When we picked them up, they were in separate kennels when I had given instructions to keep them together and they had agreed to. Also, when I called to make the appointment I told the person over the phone that one of my dogs’ hair was badly matted. I was told it would be $25 per dog. Upon payment, they requested $95 which I paid because I had already had such a bad experience and just wanted to take my dogs home. On the way home I noticed that I had blood on my pants from the nails bleeding. I typically get my vet tech to clip my dogs’ nails and she has rarely made them bleed and if she did she would put something on them to make them stop. I decided at that point not to take them back because they seemed traumatized when I picked them up. When we got home all three dogs tried to drink out of the same bowl which is unusual for them. I had to change the water three times. They had been at the salon for almost six hours and I believe they did not get any water while there. They also pottied a lot more than usual, so I’m sure they didn’t take them out either. Later on in the night I also noticed one of my dogs had a rash between his legs which was not there beforehand.

My husband called the next morning to let them know that the dogs’ paws were bleeding after their visit. The lady on the phone (Kim) was extremely rude and told my husband it looked like their nails had not been clipped in a year and we should have brought them back. My husband told Kim that their paws were trimmed a couple of months earlier at the vet for their checkup and he could bring her the receipt to show it. Kim told him that she didn’t care and if we wanted her to do something about it we should have brought them back (at an additional charge, I’m sure.) Kim told my husband they were very difficult dogs. (The other groomer we took them to never had any type of problem and said they were well-behaved. The only reason we stopped using her is because she got out of the business.) My husband then requested a receipt because they had failed to give us a receipt (which we had forgotten to ask for since we were trying to get three distressed dogs into the car). Kim stated they don’t give receipts because it’s like a haircut, to which my husband replied that he does get receipts for his haircuts. The argument went on. My husband finally just hung up.

Neither my husband nor myself are typically argumentative people. We just wanted to pick our dogs up and them be happy and healthy. Our dogs are our children. I was very distraught for my family (dogs included) to be treated in such a manner. I will never take my dogs back to this salon again and recommend no one else does.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!

by USNwife

I absolutely love this salon. Mozart looks amazing and he is HAPPY!! Great prices and a great looking, a happy doggie is the best doggie! I will definitely be back in really soon. The only down side I see about this salon is the fact that they do no accept "plastic". :) Totally worth the cash though! Give them a call. :)
