customer beware Their fish on seafood platters is from Vietn

I just move here to Pensecola. I have had to restaurants and a seafood market lie to me and tell me the fish was raised in Alabama. When I found this out I thought I educated myself on the fish from Vietnam and all the different names it has. Apparently it is a garbage fish and they name it after the river they caught it in.

The worst lie of all was the Oyster bar Perdido key Fl. River road. I specificaly asked the waitress is this from Vietnam she said,"I assure you it is not". Then I go to the store see the fish there frozen and I read the label and it said product of Vietnam.

I went back and talked to the manager he then tried to tell me it was from Alabama. When I started pressing him hard he then said it was from Vietnam.

If you look the fish up and read about it. The warnings are do not eat this fish.

The restaurants and the fishstore does not want to tell anyone where it is from because they know you will not eat it.

The names it goes by is PANGA, BASSA,SUCHEE. I an sure there are more names out there.

I am not comfortable with the restaurant oyster bar. They flat out lied even when I asked is this from Vietnam. I was assured it was not.

The Mahi Mahi was amazing!

This is one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever been too. The food was incredible! We had a party of 10 with 2 children. The kid's menu was great, and offered a little bit of everything. We ordered crab soup and oysters for an appetizer, both were amazing. Everyone ordered something different for dinner, and our entire party was impressed. You could order anything from steak and seafood, to fried chicken tenders. There was something for everyone. The service was great, the waitress always made sure we had drinks, and crackers and bread for the kids. Plus, the food came within 30 minutes! We will definitely go back to this local restaurant! I can't say how happy we were with our entire experience.
