You're taking a risk coming here. – This animal hospital used to be wonderful when it was owned by Dr. Belcher. Great prices, wonderful and caring service, and they had someone who is considered the best bone surgeon in the state of Florida. Since Dr. Belcher retired and sold the hospital to Dr Zettler prices skyrocketed, service is very poor, and staff were getting fired at an alarming rate. Every time I went in there was somebody new working there and a worker told me he likes to fire people for no good reason. The last straw was when I met a woman at my childs school that told me that Dr. Zettler screwed up a simple and basic diagnosis that almost killed her dog. She said if she hadn't gone to another vet her dog would have died. Just a warning....please don't go here if you care about your furry family members.
Loving and Wonderful Vet and Technicians – I have been taking my pets to Dr. Zettler for almost 9 years now. I absolutely adore him, his staff and his dedication to animal welfare. He has seen my beloved collies through some tough times, including a bazaar autoimmune disease, treated my animals for all sorts of ailments, and a variety of unique issues. He is ever the optimist and you can tell that he truly loves animals no matter what but he is something else. He is honest with you as to the prognosis of your beloved pet, he tries everything possible but if things aren't good he will lovingly let you know. I have been to other vets in the area but he hasw earned my total and complete trust and admiration. His staff is wonderful and I can't say enough good things about them. They are caring, considerate and have even helped me with my animals after hours. Even if I lived in Mobile or Brewton, Dr. Zettler will be my vet for as long as he practices.....
Very loving and competent technicians – I had heard bad stuff originally about this practice being old fashioned and outdated medicine like Scenic Hills (awful), but when I went there I was pleasantly surprised that it was under new ownership and had new technicians that have had a lot of seminars, and training. I took my two dogs there after another place in town said that one of them would have to be euthanized. The doctor and tech recommended bloodwork and an ultrasound. Low and behold, it was a kidney problem! My animal was put on kidney food and meds and is 100% back to normal!
Thanks for taking the time to diagnose and not just pupmp them full of shots!!
Best Vet I Have Ever Known – Dr. Zettler has been my family vet for about 7 years now. He is by far the most outstanding vet I have ever known. I had a cocker spaniel (Morgan) that Dr. Zettler diagnosed with Dialated Cardio Myopathy. At the time of his diagnosis, he was given 6-18 months to live. Thanks to Dr. Zettlers ongoing care and treatmement, Morgan lived a very happy 3 1/2 years. I attribute this longer than expected life span to Dr. Zettler's ongoing care and treatment of Morgan. After Morgan passed, I added two new cocker spaniel puppies to my family. I also have a 10 year old Silky Terrier. They are all treated by Dr. Zettler. I live in Milton and Dr. Zettler is on the Westside of Pensacola so I'm about 45 miles away. That's OK. I pass many, many veterinarians along the way....but I will continue to have Dr. Zettler treat the furry members of my family.
Dr. Zettler always has a smile on his face and he takes a lot of time with his patients. He is just delightful!
Dr Jim Zettler the best vet in the Pensacola area – We are animal lovers to the extreme. we have 7 dogs, 4 cats, 10 cockatiels, 5 holland lopeared rabbits, and hamsters too. Dr Zettler has just purchased Westside Animal Hospital.I knew Dr. Zettler from another animal hospital in the area, and after meeting him we traveled across town to have him as our vet, and for him to be so much closer to our home is a blessing. We have moved our 'kids' to his new place. We are looking forward to continue taking our critters to see him. Dr. Z is so gentle and loving to the animals, he pets them, loves them and talks to them, before, during and after treating them. My Sissy Wissy dog who hated men touching her with 2 hands was won over by Dr. Z after he spent time with her talking to her, comforting her and assuring her that he was going to help her. When it was time to put her to sleep as her since her cancer became too widespread for treatment,I was the last appt of the day. He came into the room with me, reminded me of all the care we had given her in the years I had her. We shared stories about her as I held her as she went into a deep sleep. She had to be put to sleep in a different way as she had so much internal bleeding, there wasn't a good vein for the procedure. So Dr. Z sedated her through her muscle and let her go into a coma in my arms, when I was ready he gently took her away from me to let her finish her journey over the rainbow bridge. Not only was all that very special to me, but 1 week later,I received a sympathy card, not the one that the office personnel sign, but one that Dr Z first personally wrote some very precious words to ease my pain. I have never had a vet do that before. Dr. Z will make a great asset to this office andI know that this office and other vets will share his genuine love and concern for your 'kids' too, As long as Dr Z is practicing we will remain his loyal clients and our 'kids' will see him their entire lives. Good luck Dr. Z. S and D Murray and their 'kids'
