In Short – Owner Sonny Tillman has been serving the same Southern barbecue and fixings since 1968. A common roadside stop, Sonny's offers low prices and barbecue; roomy booths, wagon-wheel chandeliers and homey craft art are the standard dining room decor. House barbecue sauce, available sweet, regular or hot, spices up large helpings of smoked beef, pork, chicken, turkey and ribs. Sides like fresh fried okra, onion rings and barbecue beans complement the entrees.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Save room for the homemade banana pudding.
- The Extras:
- Sides--especially the fresh fried okra, onion rings and barbecue beans--are inexpensive and well-prepared.

The resturant is always spotless clean and it does'nt matter how good the food is if the place is not clean.
The bbq can'nt be beat. My favorite is to get a chicken breast with the salad bar. Everything on it is the freshest i have ever seen and i travel all over the country on business and pleasure. when business associates from Alaska come to town that is the first place they want to go.
- Pros: The meat always tender and the salad bar is the best intown.
- Cons: not close enough so i can go more than once every few weeks
Not very good.

I only live about half a mile from this Sonny's and I wish they had good food/service but they don't.
Service has taken me over an hour here and the food is usually dried out from where they cook it in advance and microwave it. We go back maybe once every 3 years hoping things have changed but we are still waiting.
- Pros: recently renovated
- Cons: food not renovated

How anyone can call this barbecue has never had real barbecue. I can see why they are only in the South. If you like pink pork I guess you eat here ,but come to Memphis, Chicago, Cincinnati or any place up North to see what real babecue is. We tried Sonny's twice and gave up. This goes along with broiled peanuts, sweet tea and crawdads. Hate to be negative, but this is not to my taste and I lived in PC for a long time.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Bad barbecue
