Their fish tacos rock!. I'd been to Barnacle Bill's here and there over the past couple of years, but last time I went there they had put some new stuff on the menu, so I tried their fish tacos. I got the fish grilled instead of fried. They were really big soft tacos, and they were awesome! The seasoning was great, and there was a lot of fish in each of the 3 tacos I got. It came with black beans and rice, which were really good too. I was surprised at how much food there was on the plate. The staff was friendly and served us our lunch and kept our drinks topped off. Impressive!

Impressed. A friend and I went here recently (her suggestion) and split the snow crab legs along with a bunch of oysters. They were SO amazing. Plenty for us to share. The oysters were incredibly fresh. I was very impressed!

Try the grouper sandwich. Barnacle Bill's has really good fried shrimp, gumbo, oysters, everything I've had was fresh and tasty. On my latest lunch there I tried the grilled grouper sandwich. It was fantastic and seasoned just right. I had it with fries and slaw. The server was attentive and got our food out fairly quickly.

Great, fresh seafood. I've had a variety of stuff off the menu at Barnacle Bill's, but I've settled on the gumbo as my go-to meal here. It's chock full of seafood and is pretty amazing. When I want a sandwich, I get their blackened grouper sandwich, which is a huge piece of fish on a bun that's almost big enough to split. Service is good, and the people are always friendly. Thumbs up!

Great local place, awesome gumbo. I've been a few times over the past several months, and the food and service are great every time. The seafood is fresh and made to order, and the sides are hot and prepared well. I always get the gumbo and they have never skimped on the seafood in there. It's a good lunch place, and the prices aren't bad for fresh seafood. You get what you pay for. I'd recommend Barnacle Bill's to anyone, especially if they are wanting to take out-of-towners to a local place.

One of the best area restaurants. One of the best area restaurants, Barnacle Bill's has been a staple in Tallahassee for many years. I have yet to have a better seafood gumbo, and the oysters are as fresh as they get. The no-frills atmosphere and plentiful seating, both inside and out, makes for a good local place, and it's extremely family-friendly.

fresh food and lots of fun. my only complaint about this place is that i had to park across the street because it was so packed out when i showed up. i was visiting for a wedding from polk county florida and was very impressed with barnacle bills. i was with a party of 12 and the service wasn't even slack for the packed out building. my raw oyster appetizer tasted like it was right out of the water and my shrimp marinara (which was heavily portioned for the price) reminded me of mama's spaghetti! if you're looking for a large party to be accommodated, give this place a shot! our server lauren was awesome too!

Just average food and slow service. Quite expensive for the fair quality food. Fried oysters were over cooked, although the quantity was impressive if didn't make up for the quality. Shrimp platter was over-run with undecooked celery and onions, a lame attempt at a low-country boil. For a weds night it was quite busy, and it showed in the lack of service.
