Best seafood we have had in years! – Best seafood we have had in a long time. Customer service was great. We were visiting Daytona, and went to this restaurant because it was recommended by a friend. The line was long, but worth it! the menu selection was a good variety. We all tried very diffferent dishes, and every bite was good. If you are looking for a formal place then don't go there--it's very relaxed. Go with plenty of time, and not looking for anything fancy. We would go back!
Casual spot under the Port Orange Bridge packs in the crowds--especially families--for fresh seafood and cheap drinks. – Be prepared to wait in a long-ish line at this local favorite seafood joint. The procedure is to order at the front counter--and that's where the log-jam occurs. But you'll have time to peruse the long menu. After you make your way to the front, grab a number then find a table, either inside or out on the deck. Start off with a dozen clams or oysters, either raw or steamed, then head into the "meat" of the menu--the fried fish, shrimp, oysters, scallops and clams. There aren't many choices for meat-eaters: burger, veggie burger, steak sandwich and chicken strips.
Dirty, & Poor Service – We come down for the races every year, & stop by the Deck Down Under during our travels. This year will be the last. The service was terrible, and the place was very dirty. The food had declined as well.
Local - DDU has the freshest seafood and fast friendly service. A+++ – Being from the area for over 20 years and going to this restaurant when it was just a little mostly outdoor shack and it's migration to a vacant much larger location saw it's growth challenges. Every place has a bad time once in a while but this place will rarely let you down with anything. Always friendly servers and give them a good tip and they will ring the bell in your honor.... Giant Fish Sandwich basket...
A 17-Year Patronage Ended Tonight!
I am a local, and have been going to the DDU for many years, even before the change. The service has steadily gone down hill in the last year and a half, as has quality, & value. Tonight I waited over an hour to be served, and when the management realized the error they could care less about this customer. This use to be a really great place, & I am saddened to have to move on. Just a warning to others!
