In Short – With plants everywhere, plus colorful signs and paintings on the walls, this long-time downtown institution is a feast for the eyes. All the decoration adds to the almost-cramped feeling, both inside and on the smallish patio out front. The service can be spotty, but is always friendly. Expect to spend more than a few minutes going over the lengthy menu--everything is named oddly, but there are good descriptions of the combo vegetarian and meat-filled menu. For example, a number of burgers are offered, with either beef or veggies inside the bun. Beverages range from flavorful…

Look Good:
Be sure to check the pastry selection up by the cash register--grab something for dessert at your table or to enjoy as you wander downtown.

It's a Winner

We are so happy we found the Dancing Avocado Kitchen. We are both vegetarian, and prefer vegan meals. It is always a challenge to find restaurants that cater to our needs while on vacation. The food and the selections were excellent. We both had the Vegan Veggie and Tofu Scramble for breakfast. It was loaded with vegetables and the tofu was harder than what is usually used in a scramble; it was a nice touch. It was spiced to perfection. For dinner we had the Veggie B. (vegan) and the “Belly Dancer” (vegan). They tasted great and were both large portions. We loved the food so much that we ate here the two days we were in town. They also make many meat dishes, which we didn’t try. I did try the carrot and apple juice, made fresh. It tasted great; although, it was without the pulp if you like that. It is a cute place with eating inside and outside. It is decorated with many signs on the walls, and chairs painted different colors. It has a somewhat 60s / general store look. There are restaurant tee shirts that are available to purchase. When you stop by say hi to Emily. She was our friendly and informative waitress.

YUMMY!!

The RESTAURANT--

I highly recommend this restaurant. The feel of the restaurant has a "Hippie / Gypsy" atmosphere. All the plates/silverware are mismatched, as well as the tables/chairs, etc. The mismatched decor is in GREAT taste and a perfect "tie-in" to the overall feel/look of the restaurant.

The FOOD -- All we can say is WOW!! Delish!! FRESH ingredients, unique methodas of preparation (example, I would've never thought to combine lentils with a fish sandwich) but boy, oh boy, was that YUMMY!!!

The STAFF -- The wait staff was very attentive, courteous and pleasant. So, Rhonda, (from one Canadian to another) this THUMBS UP is going straight out to you, the Owner and everyone at The Dancing Avocado Kitchen!
