In Short – On different sites within 230 beautifully verdant acres along the Brandywine River, Hagley presents restorations, exhibits, and live demonstrations by hard-working staff in period dress. The Powder Yard contains huge stone mills, storehouses, and a working waterwheel used to power turbines and machine shops. At Blacksmith Hill, the social and family history of the workers who operated the powder mills is brought to life by interpreters, and the Manufacturers' Sunday School shows how children learned before computers.
