Horrid people, horrid pastries. What happened to this place? DREADFUL EXPERIENCE. Twice this year I've visited St. Moritz (most recently today, x-mas eve) and both experiences have been horrible. I will never go back. As a child I used to go to this pastry shop with my mother and I enjoyed each visit; the people were nice and the pastries were lovely. I just stopped by today to pick up a tart and was treated very poorly--terrible service, terrible pastries. The staff behind the counter completely ignored me and offered to help just about everyone else in the store (the store only had three customers including myself at the time). When I was finally able to flag down a "helper" (I use that term lightly) she was sullen, rude, and even rolled her eyes at my questions as if I was wasting her time. I think I might just take this tart back. Lousy service from lousy people.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Head over to the Black Forest Pastry Shop a little further up the Avenue. Black Forest has a better selection of pastries and better service.

Worst service imaginable. I agree with Thimbee's review. My mom lived in Greenwich for years and when she retired I thought she might enjoy some baked goods she used to enjoy from this bakery. I placed an order and they promised to overnight the order. When I called my mom on her bd I found the order never arrived. A call to St. Moritz was met with the lame excuse that "Fedex never came and picked up the order" which must have met the order just sat there and they never called. Not even an apology, but instead I got an amazingly inpolite and arrogant attitude from the manager. I've since spoke with Greenwich business friends who tell me that this place is known for its rude customer service, high prices and mediocre goods. People in the know go to Black Forest down the block.

What happened???. When I was a kid growing-up in Greenwich, this was an amazing feast for the eyes. The other day, I walked in off of the Ave and to my surprise, the cases were practically empty. No patries, no cookies except for a few in the rear refridgerators. There wasn't even an aroma to the place. The one girl behind the counter was very enthusiastic, but I was totally confused about what ever happened to the pastry shop from the past. I should've known... everything has changed is Greenwich. That's too bad. This place used to be the one and only. What they had, didn't even look good.
