careful when you choose your tattoo artist.
I started going to Jay Crockett when he worked at a shop a few miles from my house. His work was highly recommended. He is a graduate of Paier College of Art. When I first started going to him, he was still in school, and he won awards and scholarships.
When he left the state, I was sad. I wound up with some crummy art.
When he moved to Danbury, I was excited. Since he came back, I've had fourteen hours done on a tattoo on my thigh, and an Iron Maiden tattoo on my forearm which is so great that I'm using a photo of it for my BUSINESS holiday cards.
Jay is the cleanest artist I've ever known. He was covering everything in sterile barriers before it was common practice. (He even puts barrier on his lamp so that he doesn't cross-contaminate when he adjusts it.) His art is outstanding, and so is his customer service.
I have no idea if the other artists at Peter Tat-2 are any good because I travel 35 miles for Jay. What began as a professional business relationship has become one of trust. When I wear short sleeves, I don't want people to look at my arms and pity me because I have garbage on them. My tattoos are for ME and I don't want to be ashamed of them. There are great tattoo artists in the United States and in other countries, but for most of my work, I'd only trust Jay.…
