Macedonia Brook's streamside perch makes for a pastoral Connecticut camping experience. – The Setting
The park's 2,300 acres were a World War I era gift to the state. The venerable Appalachian Trail passes by the park on its way through Connecticut to Massachusetts. Crowning the park are two peaks, each a quarter-mile high, offering views in to neighboring New York. Springs and streams dot the area.
Campsites are spread out along the creek. Park services include picnic shelters, gravel parking, toilets and pay telephones. The campground consists of wooded, meadow or brookside campsites in a rustic camping environment, none with hook-ups. There are no showers, but there is potable water. Activities here also include stream fishing, hiking, picnicking, field sports and cross-country skiing.
