Just had to say...
by techniicolor_girl
In response to 2 of the reviews of this restaurant, I will give some thoughts and opinions. I'm a server/bartender in new haven county, and I will say that around the time of Yale graduation, every restaurant in the area with decent food and chairs gets swamped. I think it's decent and appropriate to tack on a 20% gratuity on that particular weekend. I work at a restaurant in a hotel in the area, and I will say that Yale graduation weekend is infamous among servers as a weekend of little to no tips. Everyone wants the speed of McDonald's with the quality of a 5-star restaurant. Plus, please remember...WAITRESSES ONLY MAKE $5.41 PER HOUR. And that's in Connecticut, the state with one of the highest server minimum wages in the country. Oh, and when they make you wait for a table even though there are open tables in the restaurant? That's because every server has a section of tables, and when the server leaves, they clean their section and then it is closed, in order to avoid having to re-clean it.
Just wanted to shed some much-needed light on things. Thanks! :)

i would not go back there after they raised the prices on graduation. food was fair -- prix fixe menu plus mandatory 20% tip ruined the whole experience
- Pros: Exit is close to the tables
Ripped us off for Yale graduation

Do not go to Roomba around Yale graduation weekend -- they will try to rip you off by charging a mandatory 20% tip and forcing you to order their prix fixe, which is a sorry excuse for a fixed price menu. In general, the food is sub-par to mediocre. I recommend walking in there at 9:30 -- they will say they're really busy and not seat you for a half hour even though none of the tables are occupied. If they are going to have New York attitude, they might as well serve New York quality food...
