What happened to this place?. We chose this local place for an early New Years Eve dinner and while we did not have reservations, it was 7pm. We'd been to this place several years before and they didn't specifically require reservations so we took our chances.

When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation and we of course said "No". With a disgusted look on her face one of the two hosts said to hold on. The other gave a cursory look into the room and said "Ok" She didn't even open the door completely to check.

We were shown to a table and host says, "Is this ok" ,we figured without a reservation that it would be fine. She then stormed off without even waiting for our response. I would have expected something like "ok enjoy your dinner" but nothing, just a rude host stomping off after doing only what she is paid to do.

We are now sitting at a table on the main aisle entrance in full view of all the wait staff and everyone that is entering or leaving the place. Even at this, we find ourselves waiting a long time for a waiter to arrive at our table. When he arrives, we have already decided what we would like to order but he asks only if we would like to have drinks. Well, let me warn you the bartender here should refrain from taste testing. My wife's drink was like rocket fuel and tasted of pure alcohol, my drink could have been served to a first grader. If you really need to have an adult, beverage here don't ask for anything mixed, wine or beer seems to be the only safe bet.

Then another waiter comes to our table to tell us of the specials and we inform him that we are ready to order and place our order. I will say that the food came out quickly and was actually not that bad, but the woman that brought out the food was miserable looking and practically threw the food on the table. When our main course came out my wife asked to have a diet coke to which this miserable skinny bow-tie wearing wench replied "uh-huh" and walked away. We never received that diet coke.

The wait staff here was observed spending inordinate amounts of time chatting with the larger tables while completely ignoring any table with less than six people. We realized also that every table around us received a basket of bread with butter before their meals. We were never offered this at our table. While I have never been formally trained as wait staff I have eaten out many, many times in my life and even at the diner across the street, the wait staff will come by during your meal and ask how the food was. Not here, as I said, we were in full view of the wait staff and they never once bothered to ask.

After we finished our meal we considered having a cup of coffee, but when we found ourselves waiting 20 minutes after we finished our food and sat there with empty dishes in front of us, we decided that we would go elsewhere for our coffee.

Then the red bow-tie wearing man who appears to do nothing but walk around smiled and I didn't return the smile figured out that we were not pleased, he sent a waiter over. As we were telling the waiter that, we were unhappy mr. red bow tie quickly rang up our order and handed us the check.

We will never patronize this place again. The wait staff seems miserable and unhappy; the management obviously does not care to train their people about the art of pleasing EVERY customer. The bartender should be dismissed for the swill they send out to customers especially on New Years Eve.

It's sad to say, but if I worked for Angus beef I would have a serious conversation with owner about this place, with the Angus brand attached, they are a terrible representation of the quality of Angus products.

Run Away From This Terrible Place!. Food was blah... very very cold, not throughly cooked through. I found the hostess and manager out of touch, rude, and offensive. The cleintele is made of second-class citizens. There is NOTHING cool about this place. Service was slow. I will not EVER go back.

Angus Steakhouse - Cut above Burgers for Lunch. For lunch I found the burgers to be very tasty. Meat was grilled, hand formed patties, with right amount of texture and fat. Abundant amount of hot and crisp steak fries with added treat of thinly sliced onion rings. Server was engaging, courteous, and attentive, what more would a person want? Found bacon burger needed more bacon, I understand that people are concerned about overpowering beef, but couldn't really taste it. A little pricy for some people, but given that it was Angus beef $11 for a burger was fine for the occasional treat.

One of the better restaurants in Fairfield. I have eaten at Angus a few times now. The food is good. The service is fine. Not overly expensive for steaks. I do prefer the bar area over the dinning room. They have done a nice job renovating it.

The worst dining experience ever. The entire experience was a nightmare. Everything was wrong. My husband was given a drink containing alcohol when he asked for a non-alcoholic drink. The food was improperly cooked and was cold. We just wanted to pay our check, leave and NEVER come back. But we were forced to endure lengthy excuses from the management.

Let Down. Upon recommendation I went here. It is a simple interior, with typical steak house fare. I ordered the BBQ pork chops which the waitress said was good. She did not ask how I wanted them cooked and I began to worry. First came the salad which was a little more then Iceberg lettuce. Then came the pork chops which were accompanied by fries, cole slaw and beans. The slaw was out of a carton and the beans were regular canned. The Pork chops were a very thin cut and were over cooked, thus tough. The BBQ sauce tasted nothing special. It was a meal that for nine dollars I would not have minded, but at sixteen it was an experience not to be repeated, anywhere! Perhaps I should have had a steak; however after my chopped experience i would not trust it.
