“MetroCast in Waterford is unfortunately one of the few cable options in Waterford and is plagued with frequent interruptions in service, many changes in the channels in the selected package, difficulties in getting customer service to send repairmen, and ”
“Least expensive basic cable option”
The sales rep lied to me about their packages and speeds, so I signed up thinking I was getting much better than what I actually paid for
DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE.
The sales rep lied to me about their packages and speeds, so I signed up thinking I was getting much better than what I actually paid for. They made me wait over a week to hook it up and when I called them to figure out why my speeds were so slow, they treated me like an unimportant child who did not matter and then hung up on me when I asked for a manager.
They WILL scam you!!!!
Please head my advice and go with somebody else if you can, these people have no idea what they are doing and provide absolute crap for service!
They don't even deserve one star.
They try to make amends for their lack luster service but it doesn't fly.
one real problem that everyone should know..
If you have a security system and the cable telephone service is interrupted your alarm with go off and cause quite a disturbance.
shutting down the security system doesn't help either.
Only good thing the police are at your door pronto.
all in all I feel I can't give them even one star..
Save yourself and don't use them! stick with AT&T for your phone service and make your own choice with regards to TV service.
Spotty service. MetroCast in Waterford is unfortunately one of the few cable options in Waterford and is plagued with frequent interruptions in service, many changes in the channels in the selected package, difficulties in getting customer service to send repairmen, and an unwillingness to make refunds for periods when service is interrupted. Maybe not a good choice.
Slower than a dialup connection that costs only 10 dollars a month.
Metrocas in the New London/Norwich area is terrible. Who gave them a 4 star rating? At a connection that is supposed to be 100 bps they tell us that at that speed our web browsing will "crawl".
Odd, that is supposed to be a high speed cable modem connection. They have a 100 megabyte limit on the email account. They tell us the customer that we will NOT be allowed to leave our email on their server, yet they ALSO tell us that if we do not use our email they will DELETE our email account that we are paying over 50 dollars a month for. Look it up on their site. Try it if you dare! A webpage takes 3 to 5 minutes to load with this HIGH SPEED. ???? For the past 6 months or more they say any problems we have are because they are "upgrading". No kidding. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? UPGRADING WHAT? Half of our cable TV channels do not come in, and we pay extra for that not to work also.
It does not really matter anyhow because we had to pay a dialup service to have WORKING email, and come to find out, the dialup is only 10 dollars a month, with unlimited access, 5 email boxes, not 2 for 50 dollars, and on the dialup account we can connect at 50,000 and our webpages load quite a bit faster than the supposed
HIGH SPEED CONNECTION that Metrocast claims to serve us with. The higher speed they advertise was NO FASTER so why pay more a month for no difference in speed? You do get 3 more email boxes that do not work or will be deleted though.
Where did the law state that our area can ONLY have Metrocast, the former myeastern and no other cable modem or cable TV service in our wide area of service. So who is Metrocast compared to, and what other standards are there to compare their service and speed to? NONE it's not allowed or offered. D- One star just because they exist. It's a shame that our cable modem HIGH SPEED access is our BACKUP service to our 10 dollar a month dialup which WORKS AS ADVERTISED.
