AWFUL Breakfast.
Wow... were we disappointed. We went for breakfast since this was their "claim to fame". I ordered cin/sugar french toast. They served me bread that had been grilled (not dipped in egg or anything that would resemble French toasting methods) and dipped in Cin/Sug. HOW can you MESS up FRENCH TOAST! It was so bad. And, the famous maple syrup. I don't think so, folks! To top it off, the owner (I think) ask us how we were enjoying our breakfast. I told him the French Toast was really disappointing, but the fruit was good. HE did't even offer to bring me another dish! DON'T GO!

Well know for breakfast for a reason, its a great place and great setting for that purpose. For dinner, you can be disapointed because the quality of service is lacking
sometimes or the chef is a little too confident in the quality of her work. In the reataurant business you need to be constant which is not always the case here.

Im-press-ive French.
Although this place is best known for breakfast, we had dinner there over the weekend. Terrific starters inculded the pan seared scallops in a pernod meuniere sauce, the seared duck foie gras with port poached figs, and the artisan cheese plate with candied walnuts, although the cheeses could have been more exotic. Our entrees were duck with gnocci, a rich venison loin with a mushroom rissoto cake, beef tenderloin with pomme frites, and an encrusted rack of lamb served with polenta wedges. All were outstanding and reasonably priced for the Vail valley. The wine list is limited but quite adequate for the menu and includes several affordable selections. The dining room was simple but elegant, and the service was outstanding. We'll be back!
