Last Monday I had the pleasure of dining at l'hostaria. It was just before the 4th of July weekend, and Aspen was pack with tourist etc. Our experience was attentive without being overwhelming. The crowd was mixed and we had a great meal. The owner, Tizano was around and greeting all the customers, I like that. It was a nice touch. Sometimes in Aspen it is all about attitude, not here. We had great food, great wine, great conversation in a beautiful restaurant. You cannot ask for more.

Good atmosphere. Pleasent staff. Bar menu is a bargain. Dinners are sometimes the best and sometimes impossible. A dinner called a 'stew' was delivered as a 1/4 inch thick, over done steak with black tar consistency sauce. Returned to the kichen with an appology and much better selection. I recommend it because dinners have been enjoyable even if the first attempt is not.
