Great deal on the boneless pork chop

Great dinner for 13 dollars. One large boneless pork chop cooked just right with a giant backed potato with butter and sour cream. Great deal.

Don't order soda pop

The food was good but I believe it is a little pricy for the lack of atmosphere. It's basically a bar room setting. Note, if you are inclined to order a soda pop, don't expect a refill. The waitress had to awkwardly inform us that she would have to charge for any refills almost in an aplogetic manner. That is a big turn off at those types of prices. I can't remember the last time I was charged for a refill of soda. Whoever made this decision is not too bright. Don't look for a cloth napkin either.

Best steaks in town!

I took 30 high school classmates to the Wooden Nickel. We had the back room. The food and service were great and the ambiance was terrific. We all graduated in 1960 from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas.

Excellent steaks!!

Wonderful old mountain bar. Great ambiance. Steaks are outstanding!! Very large portions. Service on Saturday night was so-so... they seemed overwhelmed.
