This is a local favorite. Located east of the city on Mulberry, the Charco Broiler is a Fort Collins landmark. Enter the restuarant and it is dark and smells like leather. There are 2 dining rooms separated by a bar. The decor is decidedly farm-like with old implemnts decorating the walls. Dining here is family style and one often sees large familes enjoying food and conversation. But the steaks are awesome. My favorite is the house Pepper Steak. It's an honest hunk of flavorful and tender steak grilled to perfection. I always order the baked potatoe which comes in a foil wrap. These are the sweetest and moist bakers you have ever tasted. Dinners also come with the house salad which is complete with rice chex croutons and a separate side of dressing. The peanut butter pie is to die for, if you have room.

As the official review say's the CB is a towny joint. Very popular with the locals, and folks come from as far away as Nebraska just to get the peanut butter pie. Stick with the steaks and you can't go wrong. My favorite is the pepper steak.
