What Our Expert Scouts Say

Heartline Cafe
April 05, 2013

They serve all three meals at this popular local cafe, but I like having breakfast/brunch in the secret garden, a charming tangle of foliage with a smattering of tables that catch just enough morning sun to be extremely comfortable even on the earlier side. Try the lemon creme stuffed French toast, or if you're feeling savory, the signature pecan-crusted trout.

Best Homemade Soups In Sedona. My husband and I love the Heartline. The quality of the food and the care in preparation is always evident. Combined with great serice, the Heartline is a great choice for a romantic dinner date. I especially like the trout.

Wonderful outside dining. We ate lunch at Heartline twice during our stay. The oustside area is like a pretty French cafe - including well behaved dogs are permitted on the patio. The service is friendly and prompt and well executed. During both our visits one of us had the pasta specials (appetiser) - both were very good and the quality of the preparation was evident. We first went to the Heartline during another visit a year or so ago...and the experience was the same. So expect this to be consistently 'on' and the quiet ambiance at least on the patio will suprise you when you see the location!

trout is the best thing about this place. The pecan crusted trout with dijon sauce was wonderful and I would definitely go back for this dish. They served an interesting squash puree for the bread which my husband really liked, I would have preferred olive oil. The lobster appetizer was also very good. We were seated right by the entrance and had constant traffic by our table which I didn't like. The atmosphere seemed a little too crowded, probably because of our table. Our B&B mentioned to them that it was an anniversary, so we were very disappointed at getting one of the worst tables in the place. The service was pretty good for Sedona, which has the typical slow service of a tourist town.
