Bait and Switch. I contacted Delray at KD Cycles to buy a Carburetor kit for my 2004 Arctic Cat ATV. Delray told me that a kit was not available for that carburetor but for $75.00 he “would make it new”. I explained to him in detail that I had disassembled the carburetor and that it was gummed up and needed to be rebuilt.

I took the carburetor to KD Cycles and again Delray told me the rebuild would be $75.00. I left the carburetor with Delray and was told it would be ready in 2 days.

I went to pick up the carburetor and Delray tells me it is $137.72, I complained and was told the $75.00 was for “labor only”. This was not the original agreement! The original agreement was to “rebuild” the carburetor for $75.00 Delray became belligerent and told me he could take all the parts out of the carburetor and charge me the $75.00. He had me and he knew it.

Delray is a CHEAT! He should have stuck to the original agreement!

I can buy a new carburetor for $200.00, there is no way I would have had Delray work on mine if he had told me upfront that is was going to be $75.00 plus parts!

To top it all the carburetor leaks like a sieve, the drain screw in the bottom of the bowl does not fit correctly! It did not leak when I took it in.

Update:

The problem was the needle valve, KD Cycles put one in that was too small, it would bind not allowing the gas to be turned off when the bowl was full. The fuel running out was from the overflow.

I was able to buy a “rebuild kit” from Liberty Motorsports in Yuma, this is the same kit I tried to buy from KD Cycles but was told none were available! This kit had the correct needle valve and after adjustment of the float all is now fine. The kit cost me $37.00.
