not clean, food nasty, added extra money to credit card. – First of all, the place is not all that clean. They push a cart with food on it uncovered (exposed) from the Kitchen (My guess) through many people before they get to your table. Germs! The rice was ok, but on the 3rd bite had a hair in it. OK, push it back, and not say anything because you are sitting with other people. The chicken was just ok, as half of it didn't have any sauce or seasoning on it.. I have always tipped good, but in this case, the food was not good, the service was not good, and I didn't leave one. I used credit card to pay and didn't put tip on it. The server came to me, and I told him why! After I left the restaurant he added the tip to my credit card without permission. I found out, when I checked with my bank the next day. From what I found out that is not the first time that happened. The restaurant will not do anything about it.!! Needless to say, My family will not be going back there. We had been several times in the past years. They have really went down hill...
I love it. – I love the chicken and the fried rice is wonderful! My family and friends are fans also.
Will never go bad – I have ate there before but I usually sit at the bar. Tonight I got a table so I could have my laptop and do some work while I ate. Got my first few sushi. There was something that didn't order but I thought that I had misordered, and what the hell, live on the edge. I get the rolls next. One of the roles wasn't what I expected but, I went with it again I just thought my bad. Ever place is different, the chief seemed to be a little heavy on the sauce. When I get the bill I realize that there is no way that I could have ordered it. It wasn't even my writing. The waitress didn't understand, I kept explaining that it wasn't my writing. The manager wouldn't even listen. I could have refused to pay but, instead I will never eat there again. And I tipped her a dollar. Lesson learned... You can't get a steak at McDonalds.
Never will go back – My wife and I used to go there for lunch multiple times a month, sometimes almost every week. Sometimes we would invite co-workers and friends for lunch too. Until one lunch the teriyaki salmon my wife ordered had a funny fishy taste to it, like the fish had aged too long before they cooked it. My wife complained but nothing was done about it. She decided not to eat anything on the plate and would just pick up a burger on the way back to work. When it came time to pay, the staff refused to take the meal off the bill. Well after a lot of arguing it got REAL loud between my wife and the staff about not paying. It got to the point the manager threatened to call the cops if we didn't pay for the meal. Unfortunately unbeknowned to us one of our dinner guests slipped one of the staff members a $10 bill and they finally let us go like they took the meal off the bill. Once my wife found out what had happened, she was furious. Well now we will never go back. We were invited several times by friends to go there for a evening dinner and we have refused.
Good Sushi Okay Experience... – Shogun looked really nice on the outside but I was really taken back when I walked inside the restaurant. It was a bit rundown and didn't look as upscale as I expected. I went there just to get some sushi. I walked in and I was immediately seated. There is 1 dining room for Japanese steak and another for the sushi bar. After a couple of minutes we realized that we were on the wrong side, and tried hard to explain to the waitress that we needed to go to the sushi bar. When she finally understood she walked us over and handed us the sushi menu. We were having a little trouble picking out something because we weren't sure what was in each roll. The waitress noticed the difficulty and brought us a detailed picture menu. We ordered some shushi and salad. The sushi chef was very friendly and it was fun watching him make our sushi and salad. My dad and I both enjoyed the food but the place just didn't have the usual feel of a Japanese steak house or a sushi bar. I've gone back a few times but I treat it more like a fast food sushi place than a actual dine-in restaurant.
Steak & Sushi Great service – We always get a Gift certificate and give it to our son from Santa and every year for my wifes birthday in
Januarary he takes his mother and myself out to eat. Every year they have treated us nicely and the atmosphere is great also the way the people meet each other and buy the end of the meal you have made new freinds.
Go here for Hibachi.... not Sushi – If you want cooked food go here, if you want sushi go to I Love Sushi... i think the website is ilovesushihuntsville dot com, this place is awesome and they dont skimp on the portions... ask for Jim he is the head chef, and like the name this place specializes in sushi... no other place like it...
HENRY CHOI IS IS THE OWNER'S SON... HOW OBVIOUS IS IT THAT HE IS TALKING SO HIGHLY OF A RESTAURANT THAT IS JUST AN IMITATION OF BENIHANA THAT HARDLY COMPARES. MAYBE HE SHOULDN'T JUST READ OFF THE MENU WHEN HE IS WRITING A REVIEW OF HIS EXPERIENCE THERE, INSTEAD BE HONEST ABOUT HOW HORRIBLE THE FOOD IS COMPARED TO THE PLACES HE'S BEEN IN NEW YORK...
Best Japanese in Huntsville – Shogun is a great Japanese restaurant in Huntsville that offers a mix of Japanese cuisine - Sushi, Teppanyaki and Woshoku. The restaurant is very simple inside and very clean with an open atmosphere. I usually go here for lunch with co-workers and dinner with the family. I have to say that the food is excellent and very consistent. My favorites are the Filet Mignon and Shrimp combo for Teppanyaki, Fried Pork Cutlet and Udon for Woshoku and finally Spicy Tuna and Spider Rolls on the sushi side. Service is about average...nothing special. But the food here is great and it's always fun with a group of friends or if you're on a date.
Not all that – What can i say about Shogun. Talk slowly or the staff won't understand you, the Sushi is ok, and the teppanyaki is mediocre. If you are used to fine Japanese dining, this will fall short. If you're lookin for some grub, the portions are large and the show is alright.
