Amy!

Amy has twice saved me from hair disasters at other salons...one a 'high-end.' You long-haired ladies know how devastating it can be to spend a year or two in a growing out phase to have 4 or more inches taken off with one fell swoop and unbeknownst to you at the time. I'm back at square one now after the latest but Amy (as well as the owner...thank you, Summer) met me on said D-Day after hours, to meticulously go through my hair and do what she could to give it some semblance of an 'intended cut.' I'm trying to grow out layers which drive me berserk and as I'm not particularly skilled at styling, I think long, loooong layers are my only option...if I can ever get there. Amy assures me I can...or as she says, 'we'll get there.' She is a sweetheart and a half and she seems to genuinely care when someone is 'on the ledge.' Mostly, though, I appreciate that she takes her time to REALLY go through each layer of hair, section it, look at the angles, check for evenness, 'steps' and things like that, tell me what will work and what won't (I appreciate that kind of honesty), hopefully stop me if I ask for something stupid or unnecessary, not go crazy with the texturizing, and so on...because when you have an all-the-way-down tapered/layered, sort of V-cut as I have now and you wear it straight, you need someone with that kind of dedication. Not all do. Amy does. Whatever style you have or desire, Amy seems to love what she does and genuinely cares about people, so that in itself is a ringing endorsement. I'm in the East Bay...but for the tender loving kindness she devotes to my tresses, I'll gladly make the trek to Dixon. Thanks, Amy! You're a winner and you're my friend forever!
- Pros: Skilled
- Cons: Just the drive for me...but worth it
