David is the updo master. There is too much to say about blush and JAC hair gallery to fit into this tiny space. David, Monique and the owners made my sister's wedding day so special! The spa and salon were both very busy and there was even another wedding going on the same day but they made my sister feel like she was the most important person in the world on her day. David is the best - everyone told my sister (and all of us) how georgous her updo was and her makeup was perfect (thanks to Dolores). David, Monique and Dolores had all of us looking like models, but the best part was - they are absolutely charming and professional. I've never been treated so well in a spa or hair salon. The owners both catered to me and our family & bridesmaids, set up a table for us to bring some goodies and Dolores' adorable husband was chatting with everyone and making mimosas for all the girls. He was so sweet to my mom! We had a blast!!! David - thank you, thank you, thank you and Monique, all of the girls thank you too. Love you guys!!…
great cut!. I was up for the weekend with my girlfriend having some spa treatments at blush. I loved my treatments so much that decided to try the hair salon and had a great experience. David was so nice and said that he would try to fit me in - blush changed my appts around so that I could see David and he gave me such a cute cut! I wish I loved closer to Sonoma but whenever I am here, I'll be sure to see David and get a facial!…
city girl loves JAC. What can be better than dinner in the wine country after a fabulous day at the salon and spa. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in the wine country. My girlfriends had an amazing spa day at blush the month before so we decided to give it a try. On Friday, they squeezed me in with Jane which turned out to be the best haircut I ever had. On Saturday, my boyfriend and I both did spa packages - it was the BEST! I have never had a facial like the one I received from the owner and the massages were just over the top. I will be making frequent trips to Sonoma to see these girls - we are totally hooked!…
Highly skilled staff, professional. Finally, a hair salon without stylists competing and gossiping about each other. I have lived in Sonoma for 10 years and really enjoy my time at JAC. Everyone is so friendly and they have fun there talking about fun, silly things instead of "who did what to you" - boring!!! Stacey and Judy both do my hair (whoever is available because they are super busy) and I love them both. I got married in Sonoma a couple weeks ago. It was a blast and I felt like a princess.
I was really pleased with my vendors-- all total pros and made the whole day go seamlessly-- with one exception. JAC Hair Gallery was a total nightmare!
Even though I had a signed contract, tried numerous times to reach them by phone, and sent confirmation emails to the owner, there were huge mix ups. To make matters worse, the owner acted in a very unprofessional manner. I'll leave out the gory details, but suffice it to say it was the only stress factor in the days leading up to my wedding. I can only conclude she figured that she had little to lose, as we were out of town customers, and we were locked into the contract.
I had to keep them on, but didn't want them touching my hair. I ended up having to book a second stylist-- who turned out to be amazing!
As far as JAC, we paid for everything, even the services we didn't use. We tipped 15% as the stylist himself did a reasonable job. Even he told us later that the owner had made a mess of it.
I didn't let them ruin my day, but don't let them interfere with yours. Stay far, far away.
UPDATE: Dolores I am not a former stylist, although I can well imagine why former employees might have ill will due to general unprofessionalism. Note that all the other "rave" reviews look contrived: the other "customers" have only reviewed this one site (or JAC's other site Blush), are way over the top and always know the owners by name. Writing your own reviews to artificially inflate ratings? Unethical and misleading!…
