Absolutely Magnificent!. My sister and I stayed here back in January of '06. Even though it was 50 degrees outside, we were one of the only rooms booked in the entire place. The nippy air was actually refreshing. The cuisine - memorable!Service was incredible. Like the other reviewer said, "free wine and cheese" in your room and at every turn. I slept on a plush mattress with a glorious fire crackling in my room. The spas services were first rate: from the heated stone massage, to the merlot body wrap, to the hydrotherapy bath, to invigorating grape seed body scrub; I was more than impressed. This is a place I would consider returning to for an anniversary - that's how special it is!
If you can't get to Europe, head to Sonoma and this lavish garden villa..
The Scene
This small hotel is engulfed by ivy, roses, herbs and thick fig and olive trees. Some might say it's overgrown, but there is no denying it's lovely. Jagged stone walkways and patios add to the organic and sophisticated beauty of this verdant Euro-rich retreat.
The Details
The summer of 2003 saw major transformations at the inn. Eighteen new rooms brought the total up to thirty. And the spa took on a partner to become Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa, featuring innovative therapies using vine and grapeseed extracts. Among signature treatments is the Wine Barrel Bath and the Merlot Wrap. The guest rooms come with feather beds, working fireplaces and balconies or patios. Most continue the Italian villa theme from the gardens with their walls washed in muted stone colors, wrought-iron accessories and rich, textured fabrics.
So relaxing! Amazing time!. I travel for work 100% and literally live in hotels. This is one of the finest places I've stayed at in the world. This place is much nicer than the pictures on their website. The pools are heated and the waterfall is amazing. The spa treatments were great as was the restaurant. I highly recommend not eating out and just staying and relaxing. I've never had a weekend more relaxing than my stay at the Kenwood Inn.
Relax in privacy. An indulgent luxury!.
Our room had a jacuzzi tub for 2, separate spacious glass shower, wood burning fireplace & queen sized feather topped bed with lots of pillows. They thought of everything - bottle of wine (w/opener and glasses), biscotti, bottled spring water, candles, matches, bath salts and CDs. There were music speakers throughout the room. The property is isolated from homes & businesses - which made it more private.
There was complimentary fruit in bowls around the property and complimentary wine, brandy, port and soft drinks in the spa lounge. We missed the wine and cheese in the bar.
We roamed around the property in (provided) robes & slippers to enjoy the 2 jacuzzis (1 with a waterfall), pool, warm tub and steam room. All of which were available 24 hours and stocked with ample towels.
Our in-room massage was wonderful and breakfast was delicious. The service was excellent and not obtrusive.
