These wine-country mountains harbor great horseback riding for those who like sophistication with their camping.. In Short
The park sits at the headwaters of the Sonoma Creek, where it runs through gorge and canyon, then across the meadow floor beneath scenic rock outcroppings. Deer, raccoons and gray foxes can be seen in the park. Campgrounds have a variety of amenities, some with hook-ups; there are restrooms for campers, but no showers. A horseback concession can be found at the park, and fishing is available seasonally.

Call Ahead!. The park is ok. On weekdays be sure to make reservations (especially if you're interested in horseback riding) before making the long trip. My friends and I went there on a Wed. and no one was around!
