Great outdoor dining!

by Sunranae at Citysearch

I was amazed to sit on thier outdoor patio, and look right onto the vineyard! The only way to get closer would to have your table right between the vineyard rows! Truely exceptional setting with flowers and gardens all around, and you don't notice the power station a block away. We were served an 'amuse busche' that was sooo tasty, (but I forgot what our server said it was) and my salad and Halibut were amazing too. Our server was very un-obtrusive and friendly at the same time. I will be sure to go there again when my brother & sister-in-law come to town.

  • Pros: Ambiance, service, great cocktails
  • Cons: Weekend nights teh service is a bit slower

A True Disappointment

by sw72769 at Citysearch

I dined there back in the fall 2007 for a medical seminar and was quite excited given its reputation in the county as a fine dining experience. The decor, ambiance, service and presentation of the food was very good, no disappointments there. But the food was very lacking. The main entree was chicken which was dry and tastless. Needless to say I will not dine there again and it is definately not worth the cost. I dine out quite often and have traveled extinsively and lived in both the Atlanta GA and New York metropolitan areas. Dining in sonoma county is quite a disappointment.

Why oh Why

by jeffthecanadian at Citysearch

Been there five times in ten years and I keep wondering why. So why five times? The first time was truly great and I kept hoping for a repeat performance. And, weirdly enough (the restuarant sits across the street from a PG&E substation) it was a convenient location to meet various clients. The menu looks great but then what arrives is just so short of expectation. Except for the breads at brunch. Nice selection. Note to self: never again, no.

Reputed fine dining under review

by wallstpup at Citysearch

6/28/06 Received a doggy bag of left over Pork Carnita Quesadilla, $14, and so i promptly ate the two small wedges. The guacamole that came with it was exceptional. The spinich flavored wrap was soft and moist indicating freshness. The thin pork spread contained large onion and green pepper chunks. Overall it was very good. Wish I had more to eat. The quesadilla must have been 9-10" which is quite small making this the most expensive quesadilla per inch in Santa Rosa, but can you put a price on exceptional taste for something this good can be considered to be priceless? So this reviewer is going to head there for more samplings which I will update here.

7/24/06 Had the hamburger. It was terrible. It was so bad that it is not worth saying why.

  • Pros: Food quality, freshness
  • Cons: price, hamburger

All Show No Glow

by trekitup at Citysearch

This is one of those restaurants that pretends to be a great establishment, but is rather average. The service seemed good at following an established plan, but failed to meet my needs. When I asked for more butter, it took three requests to finally get it. The table was too small to hold the plates and glasses for 4. The food was very average, but very overpriced. The steak (filet) was ordinary, but priced as if it were PRIME. Steaks at Outback are much better!!!!! The potatoes were greasy and over-salted. The seasoning was just okay. The serving sizes were so small that I was embarrassed for my guests. The wine choices were good, but also overpriced. I got the feeling this restaurant's kitchen had no quality control to it. There are so many wonderful places to eat in the area, so please skip this one by.

  • Pros: wine choices
  • Cons: poor food, average service
