local neighborhood joint with lots of character. If you are looking for a social meal with others including the chef this is the place for you. The food is basic fare, but it is prepared fresh. This is as close you can get to Mom's kitchen without having to clean the table or wash the dishes. The hamburger special, $5.95 comes with krinkle cut fries. The lettuce, onions, and tomatos were clean and cut thick. The meat was around 6 ounces and it was grilled. It wasn't too greasy and had a fine beefy taste. It is not the best burger in Santa Rosa, but it ranks up in the top 5. Become a regular and the burger will become the best in town for the social contact is better than the burger. I highly recommend the Cook House for just the quality of openess it serves. It is rare and it is a gem.

The only thing I missed was them not having BBQ sauce.
