In Short – Bernard Dervieux opened Cuistot in 1987. Since then, this French-born, classically trained chef has turned his quaint Palm Desert restaurant into a highly rated culinary destination. Each dish reflects Dervieux's skill at delicately embellishing high-grade ingredients with complimentary seasoning, sauces and textures. Entrees range from rack of lamb to lobster pot pie. For dessert, Dervieux's signature Floating Island is a devilishly sweet and harmoniously light concoction of meringue, roasted almonds, creme anglaise and caramelized sugar.
horrible french food!!
by jschuel219
I cannot beleive they can call this french it was terrible. Also overpriced, it lacked a sense of quality. The service was horrible and food is fair. La poan was a much better restarunt but is now closed because of this short-stick operation.
amazing meal from start to finish

I highly recommend the wild mushroom soup and the mushroom topped veal chop. Be sure to check out the extensive wine list too.
- Pros: amazing soups
- Cons: EXPENSIVE!!
Don't eat the brunch
by jferranti
This restaurant is not set up for brunch. The choices are very limited, the few little pasteries are terrible (I've had better at Costco), no coffee or great French bread, salads are soaked in some oil, the desserts are absolutely the worst I've eaten. Our server disappeared and we had to flag down more than one for service.
- Cons: food, price, service
