denny williams is a thief. I wish i could give him no stars. Its a good thing this place shut down. Denny Williams (the owner) likes to STEAL and SELL music gear from struggling musicians whom he hires and tries to have THEM PAY HIM for playing in this hell hole.
Unpredictable Writers Club.
The French Quarter is a very unpredictable club. It is also located in a rough part of Nashville. Being off the music path, the owners would be far better to stick with country and writers nights to build a solid client/customer base. I have been there many times and the crowd is very small, usually a lot of the stranger styles of music in Nashville go there, because they are given a venue there. I saw very few people buy drinks so I know they can't be making much money off that.
The sound is great! They have one of the better systems in town yet not the music or writers to fill the bill.
Owners definetly need to re-think their management goals.....if they want to be known as a good club for Musicians. I play at many places and this one would not be on top of my list due to the consistency of the attendees.
James Westborn has performed on various TV shows including American Bandstand, TNN's Be A Star, and other venues.
Call Metro Health Dept!. Nasty bathroom...service and attitude worse than a truckstop in hell. I went to see my girl sing, and we ain't going back. I didn't order any food, cause after visiting the bathroom, I had lost my appetite. I said something to the person in charge and he threatened to kick my ass and throw me out. I told a friend of mine about the incident, and he told me the owner (Dennis LeCouer) used to have a music store downtown. The scoop on the store was that your car or van would get broken into while being parked outside, your stuff stolen, then it would show up in his store for sale a few weeks later. Musicians stopped going there, and he went into the bar business after the store flopped. Now he's a club owner with a basement full of stolen gear he sells on ebay. What a guy! I'll NEVER go back, and he needs to get an inspection from METRO HEALTH DEPT. of Davidson County.
Why would he overcharge my card?. I went to this club several times but will never go back. The very last time my credit card was used, I was not very happy when I got the statement. The amount charged to my card the night I was there and the amount on my statement were very different. When I called to ask about it, the owner was very rude, arrogant and very abrasive. My bank straightened it out but I will never go back. If you go, keep your card in your wallet and take cash.
French Quarter-my two cents. Good grief,,,I went to see a popular band at this place I'd never been. It was a horrible experience. Avoid this place like the plague. I love this band for the nostalgic trip it gives me, but the sound was horrible and the service was the worst.
Get out the pepto bismol. I went to see a friend play in this joint. It was nasty, dark and dank. It took forever to get service and siverware of all things. I ordered some shrimp (big mistake) and fries. The owner runs the sound board and the sound was horrible. I left after the owner started swearing at the band. By the time I got home, I had the runs...up all night. I'd sue him, except it looks like he doesn't have a pot to piss in.
Nashville's most under rated LIVE music venue...Great food as well....... Ok folks, this is one of the HOTTEST venues for live music in Nashville!! I can't believe this place! The acoustics are AMAZING!! Over the past few months I've been there 3-4 times to see some freinds of mine play, The Jon Grisham Band. If you have not seen these guys, you are missing out.....and Dennis, the owner who is also the sound man, makes them sound even better with his professional sound board work!! The ambience is great with dim mood lighting and the menu is worth a try as well. If you want authentic cajun food without having to travel to Louisiana or the Mississippi Delta, you need to get your butt down to The French Quarter Cafe and check this place out. It's a restraunt so all ages are welcome. On some live music nights there is a small cover charge but it's WELL worth the minimal fee to enjoy some of Nashville's finest live music and great food too! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!! GREAT job Dennis!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
First time back in awhile had a great time. I was there on a Friday night and had a great time! I had not been there in some time and was really surprised at the great service and food. The band was excellent well I'll say bands it was a Bellmont Univ. writtters night and all where very good. Our server was a really nice young girl whom I complimeted on the bar and her service she told me that there was some changes being made and that there was a new manager there to help put all in place, she also infrmed me that there was going to be a grand re-opening soon and invited me to go to their web site and sign up so I will receive an invitation. Overall very relaxed and enjoyable.
Never Open during posted hours-Food OUTRAGEOUSLY priced.
I have gone there several times thinking maybe daylight savngs time didnt exist in their world...but when the sign says we open at 5 pm and its 6:30 , 7:15, 7:45 then you have to wonder what the hell time do they open....??? I went by there the other night and some guy was on a cell phone trying to do business with the owner and they were closed and the owner couldnt be found....what a way to do business......Everyone says the food is over priced, IT IS and its rarely all that good.I have enjoyed the music but after 3 tries and they cant be open within 3 hours of their posted time then I'm OUT...way too many clubs on 12th ave over near green hills that open on time EVERYTIME , have good music and decent food prices
also the last time I was there a bouncer (maybe the owner) was giving a band a hard time also and the band left....so much for character
Avoid going to this place. I went to this restaurant a couple weeks ago. The service was not good, but there was this good band on stage. After they went through there first song the owner was yelling at the bands guitarist and harassed him on the PA system . A couple of my friends got a big bill for beverages and food. I recommend that no one go to this place. It gave me no joy to go to.
