Too popular for its own good. They have some pretty exciting tastes at PF chang's, but the cost and the atmosphere leave something to be desired. Dishes are about $3-5 more than they should be and while service is pleasant enough, they are definitely not quick. Expect a wait for a table, even with reservations. Too loud for a date if you like doing much talking. Drinks are reasonably priced. Waits for big tables are more reasonable than waits for pairs...they are nearly the same.
Huge disappointment, but I wasn't suprised..
This place is overrated garbage. If you're a pink-razr-toting socialite with oversize sunglasses and capri pants or a metrosexual who buys all his drawers at the Gap, this place is for you. If you want to brag about eating at a place just for the sake of bragging, this is your place. If you enjoy food that tastes good and could care less about your 'image', then stay far far away.
I thought I'd give it a fair shake, becuase I've been wrong about this sort of thing before. But after my third bite, I knew my suspicions were right.
Everything is way too expensive, the food has no flavor to it and it just has the feel of chain restaurant pretense all around. There's nothing close to Chinese about the menu. Its about as chinese as Taco Bell is Mexican. I ordered the the spicy chicken and was disappointed when it was neither spicy, nor flavorful.
I know this place is a big deal right now and people are always talking about it, but that's what sheep do. Check out August Moon or Tang's if you want food with actual flavor and you could care less about who's driving daddy's Land Rover to dinner just so they can 'OMG P EFF CHAYNNNGS OMG ITS SO AHHHWESOME OMG WHOS CALLING ME ON MY RAZR FONE OMGEEEE'
Its like being in the 'Boring Club' just so you can say you belong. Twelve thumbs down.
Awesome Food and Service. I have never had bad service here! I have had average service, mainly great service, but never bad. If you hve been here often you know that you can order off the menu and they will grant your wish. If you like HOT & SPICY try the Firecracker Shrimp (not on the menu). But, if you are not daring almost anything on the menu is great. Don't ask for hot if you don't want hot, they can make the spice to your desire.
Great Food Great service Great value!!. Don't listen to all the bad reviews. Try it out for yourself. I made reservations for Valentines Day for 4 people and the day of I had to change to 6 people. They were very friendly and had no problem with the change. We arrived and was seated within 3 minutes. The food was delicious and very cheap. Not expensive at all. The lettuce wraps were great and the cheesecake was to die for. Very smooth and moist. The soup was great and they give you a big bowl of it not just a little cup like most places. 4 adults ate off the soup and we still had extra. The food was delicious and we can't wait to go back. The only disadvantage is the parking. Do valet!! You cannot get a parking spot unless it is your absolute lucky day!! But don't let that stop you.
depends on you.
not real chinese food, just chinese influence
long wait but fast service once your seated
nice food, nice portions, not nice prices
good diversion from bad buffets
don't let all the women talk you into the over priced lettuce wraps
good deserts, but you will lack room for such delicacies
It will all depend on how you define chinese food, how you define good pricing, and what you consider an appropriate wait time to eat at a chain
After hearing several good things about PF Chang's wonderful food I simply had to try it. However I have to admit it took 3 visits to 3 different locations to finally make it through the long line and the wait to get a table. And even with our reservation at the Nashville location we still ended up waiting for our table.
In any case, the food at PF Chang's was a little bit of a disappointment. The Crispy Honey Shrimp and the Mongolian Beef were good but nothing special.
The service however was the best part of the experience. Our server anticipated all our needs. She made our dining experienc wonderful.
I can't say the 45 minute or 3 hour long wait is worth the effort to sample this above average Chinese food. Overall I would say a little hole in the wall Chinese restaurant could get the job done.
Not authentic Chinese food but good taste. This place offers Americanized Asian food. Although the food is not authentic according to my standard (I'm a Taiwanese), the taste is much better compared with many Chinese take-out places that are neither authentic nor good. PF Chang's is not a bad choice if you cannot find real Chinese food and don't want to settle for those terrible Chinese buffet/take-outs.
Fave Date Spot. My Boyfriend introduced me to PF Changs, and it has become one of our favorite places to meet up for a dinner date. The Asian influence on all the dishes is easily recognizable, but don't expect the typical Chinese takeout taste. If you go you MUST start w/ the lettuce wraps! They make the meal. Be sure to try different dishes, as everyone that I have had has been excellent. Expect leftovers too, and if you are a spicy cuisine lover, ask them to suggest one of the specials, I always ask for them to make it a tad more spicy, while my tongue can handle it sometimes my beau feels the heat.
not authentic but food is good.
I have been to P.F. Chang's in several cities and they all consitently look and tasted the same. Food is fairly distant from authentic chinese food, with dishes from differnt culinary regions, and relatively westernized with mild flavors that is pleasing to most americans. Ambiance is excellent (for a Chinese restaurant, that is) and if you are single, it wouldn't be a bad place to take your date out for a (cheap) dinner. It's very bustyduring weekend evenings however. Apparently, their call ahead doesn't mean a whole lot either.
All in all, it's still our favorite place.
yikes. you call that chinese food?.
maybe I'm just a chinese foodie snob, but quality and taste wise, what I had for dinner there over the weekend was hardly worth the price.
4 shrimp dumplings for $6.95?
4 vegetarian dumplings for $4.95?
Shrimp dumplings were "ok", nothing special.
The vegetarian dumplings were dry, the skin was doughy and overall it had no flavor, which forced me to rely on the "sauce" which was basically soy sauce with a bit of ginger added in.
I dined by myself so I didn't order much food, but what I had ordered turned out disappointing.
