Overview
The region's mountains--including Killington itself, the granddaddy with a summit of 4,241 feet--are some of the highest in New England. This is a recreational paradise for outdoorsy folks. Ski downhill on one of the largest ski areas in the world (95 miles of trails) or cross-country in the lower elevations. Hike the Appalachian and Long trails. Tee off on one of the 12 golf courses or go for a daring ride on a mountain bike.
The Experience
It's heaven for leaf-peeping every fall when flatlanders invade to gawk at mountainsides and rolling hills ablaze with color. But in the midst of all this natural beauty, of course, "civilization" has managed to stake out some space and set up camp--tacky shops to entice leaf-peepers and skiers.

Everyone always raves about Killington and it just is not one of my favorites. The mountain is very large for east coast skiing and the conditions are good but the trails are short. The mountain is broken up weird. If you want to ski expert trails there are no real long ones. Most ppeople love it here though.

This resort is first class and it was wonderful year round. The views are like sitting on the top of the world. They are beautiful. Summer green moutains, great restaurants, the rooms are elegant and the area is full of places to visit and see. Hike, bike, swim or ski, this is the place to relax and enjoy yourself in peace and quiet. I loved it. Of course, you do have to pay a little more at a resort, but compared to most this is cheap. So enjoy the view and the comfort. The staff is friendly and personable. Loved it. Go here first.

Killington offers the best and most diverse big mountain skiing in the East. They have so many trails of such diverse terrain that nobody will get bored! Great snowmaking and customer service seal the deal.
