This late-night spot is a mecca for Nashville's 24-hour party people.. In Short
Upstairs is Excess, a smallish club with a dry bar (licorice, Blow Pops, bottled water) and a dimly lit dance area surrounded by mirrored walls. Orbit is downstairs, and while the space's low ceilings and black lights make it feel like a basement, the dance floor is roomier, the music louder and the people more relaxed. The vibe, from management to coat-check girl, is unfailingly polite and welcoming, and the gay-owned-and-operated venue is remarkably straight-friendly.

Reduce the extacy and enjoy the people. To much extacy and str8 boys don't socialize and mingle with the gay guys and there needs to be better music upstairs

What Happened?! It used to be a mixed club!. This joint used to be a great place to hang with all sorts and varieties, all shapes and sizes and all sexual variations. No longer sad to say. Its been commandeered by the 18-21 straight-boy crowd. No offense, but they can get a little testosterone intense. Many act like they've never come across another gay guy before. Grow up dudes! We're not all after your butt. Most of us just want to relax like you until the sun comes up. Chill.

There is still hope!. I have been going to XS since it basically has been open. I love the place, music and people there. They are way too cool. It's true it has been changing within the last 2 years, but I believe that the owner will do something about it! XS knows what's going on and I know they will hook-up it sooner or later!

Something needs to Change.. I used to go every Saturday night in 2001, until I moved. It was the best dance club in Nashville then. I have been back a few times, and it has really slowed down. Something needs to be done before it turns into an empty pit. Needs more curcuit music upstairs.
