What People Are Saying About Royal Oak Brewery

In Short – Its name sums it up: It's a microbrewery with a Royal Oak ambiance. Looks like a college rathskeller with its pink brick walls and blond wood chairs. Beer aficionados swear by the flavorful Belgian ales, nine of them, which are fermented with yeast rather than hops. The good house-made brews include golden ale, wheat, red and IPA, along with a porter and an Extra Special Bitter. Food includes big sandwiches, fish-and-chips, pasta, calzones, and more.
Good Brews

Well... it's a brewery, not a gormet restaurant and they deliver what they intend to - a good glass of beer. Honestly, some of their food is good and some... not so good (I recommend the beercheese soup and the turkey club) and, like most other breweries I've visited, the food tends to be a couple dollars over priced. What they lack in food, however, is made up in their brews. Resonably priced drinks that fit almost anoyones taste. So if you want to get a hearty soup, a thick sandwich, or some chips and dip while you talk with friends and family over a couple of cold drinks this is a good place to go, but remember, their ultimate task is beer - not food.
- Pros: clean and friendly atmosphere, decent service
- Cons: slightly overpriced food
No healthy vegetarian fare.

My husband and I have stopped going since they discontinued serving their veggie burger. The beer is pretty good and so is their brewer's bread. The pizza was pretty greasy and other than pizza there are really no healthy vegetarian options. Two thumbs down for getting rid of a vegetarian option. They have lost us as regular customers.
- Pros: micro brewed beer
- Cons: no vegetarian options, mediocre food
Fully Disappointing

This restaurant intrigued us from the outside. Inside, the ambiance felt "cold". The menu left wanting, not having enough of a selection. We had artichoke fritters as appetizers and noticed that they tasted very familiar:Costco. When the salad came, the same familiarity hit: Costco! When we were served our food, I had had enough of the Costco connection. Everything was bland; just tasted like 4 ingredients thrown onto the dough with no flavor to bind them.
Service: our waitress did not remove ANY of our dishes until we grabbed her to tell her we were ready for our check. Perhaps she thought we were going to finish the ONE slice of fried artichoke, the half loaf of bread and the rest of the very soggy salad after we were served our main meals.Altogether, overpriced for what it offers: bland and screaming for a real chef to us more than Costco!
- Pros: clean bathroom, cozy booths
- Cons: overpriced, poor food selection
