An Old World-style resort offering superlative facilities.. The Scene
This resort is secluded in a 6,500-acre private wilderness. Inspired by European châteaux and the country houses of Belgium, it has a spacious lobby with a large fireplace, wood-beamed ceiling and large, many-paned windows. The inviting chairs are ideally placed to encourage conversation and to take advantage of the spectacular views.

The Details
The 56 oversized rooms and suites are individually furnished with antiques and hand-crafted pieces. They have European down comforters, gas-log fireplaces and balconies on which to take your morning coffee. Private three- to five-bedroom homes are available for families or large groups. The spa offers body treatments (try a chamomile soak and lavender massage) and wellness programs. There are four championship golf courses to choose from. The lodge has four eateries--from the formal Restaurant Picasso (works of art for the palate) to a casual pub, Grouse-on-the Green. It's a 17-mile drive down a winding mountain road to Vail and Beaver Creek; the lodge offers complimentary shuttle service.
