Tips for Bobbie's Dairy Dip

Go for the shakes...skip the food. We have been going to Bobbie's Dairy Dip for a few years now...without a doubt, the best ice cream/shakes in Nashville. Well worth the trip for anything frozen.

The food, however, sucks. It sucks about as bad as the customer service. On two consecutive visits, my wife ordered a sandwich, and on both occasions, it was horrible. The burgers are okay, but nothing you couldn't get at Burger King.

It's definitely worth a visit, but the have to fix their staff before they will become an enjoyable place to eat.

The employees have no sense of customer service or manners!. I just left their tonight angry as I could be. I stood there and asked about a couple of menu items as the girls behind the window ignored me over and over again. I finally asked if they were taking orders at that window and was told the kitchen was closed. I was angry when I walked away thinking they could have told me that when I asked about the food. As I walked away I could hear them laughing. When I looked they were looking out the window at me laughing and giving each other high fives. I decided to tell the manager about it. She was the most smart assed person in there as she had an answer for everything. "They are happy to be working", she said. And then told me the kitchen closes an hour before the stand closes. It was 8:20 pm. She even gave me this look like I was weird for saying something about the girls actions. These people are the definition of West Nashville trash. If they don't care how their employees act, what does that say about how they prepare their food. I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS AGAIN!

Worst Service Ever!. It has been almost a year since my one and only visit to Bobbie's Dairy Dip, and I'm still as angry as I was then. Maybe writing this review will help.

My husband and I had finally decided to try Bobbie's Dairy Dip after living in Nashville for a couple of years. From the outside, it appeared to be a fun place to eat with the bright, happy colors all around. However, we quickly saw how looks can be deceiving...

I ordered a grilled CHICKEN sandwich but received a grilled CHEESE sandwich. When I tried to return my order by saying I had ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, I was told "No, you didn't. You ordered a grilled cheese sandwich." I was then informed that I would have to order an additional sandwich in order to get what I had ordered in the first place.

I have never encountered such rude staff at any other restaurant in Nashville or elsewhere. Yes, the place is cute, but it looks just as cute when I drive right past it and go somewhere with decent service.

Horrible Service. Living in Nashville for close two years, we have been loyal Bobbie's Dairy Dip customers for almost as long. Stopped by on our way home from the store on a hot spring day to get some shakes and cheese fries. After 40 minutes and still no food or drinks we finally asked for our money back.

The place was packed, so it's understandable that there is a short wait, but this was ridiculous. To add insult to injury, many of the staff's friends showed up and started chatting with the servers. It was surprising how quickly these people received their food. People in line behind us got their fries before us and yet we still had "a huge order in front" of ours.

Bobbie's receives a two solely based on my past experiences before tonight. However, they will never receive my business in the future.

love this place!. I came to Bobbie's for the first time today, and I gotta say it's one of the best and funnest places to eat in Nashville! I had one of their cheeseburgers, and it tasted better than any other I've had in town. And my husband really enjoyed his burger with melted bleu cheese. All the ingredients were fresh and the patties were juicy and cooked to perfection. I came back for a strawberry shortcake for dessert, and it was amazing! REAL homemade shortcake, not that spongey-cake stuff! And the ice cream was the richest soft serve I've ever tasted. I asked the girl there and she said they use their own special blend. All the staff there seemed friendly and knowledgeable about their products and the history of the store. I always see long lines outside Bobbie's and now I know why! I will be coming back many times! This place is worth it!

BOBBIE'S IS AMAZING. Bobbie's Dairy Dip is one of the most fantastic restaurants in Nashville... and I've eaten at a lot of restaurants here. Here's what they have (at least that I remember, they have an impressively extensive menu for being a walk-up and order kind of establishment): burgers, hot dogs, amazing grilled cheese with tomatoes, fries (regular and sweet potato), onion rings, milkshakes beyond your wildest dreams, vegetarian-friendly burgers, a medley of ice creams, and chili in the cold season. Aside from the food, the atmosphere is unbeatable; they have neon ceiling fans and picnic tables... seriously, that's cute.

Ripped Off!. I've been a Bobbie's regular for many years, but I'm sad to say today was the last day I'll ever go back. I was overcharged for my meals and when I brought it to the cashier's attention, the only response I received was "I don't make the prices".

The menu states that kids meals are $4.00 each and I ordered two. I was charged $8.50 for one and $7.65 for the other. For those keeping count - that's an overcharge $8.15. The regular size combo I also ordered was $7.50 - less than either of the kids meals. Like I said, when I brought it to the cashier's attention, the only response I received was "I don't make the prices". How's that for customer service?

To top it off, the sodas they used to serve were regular sized sodas - probably 20 oz. cups with this great crushed ice. Now they are these tiny 12 oz. cups with massive ice cubes - like a kiddie cup. Four sips and it was gone. It wouldn't have bothered me as much if they hadn't already overcharged me $8.15 for my meals.

I hate to dis a place I've been loyal to for many, many years. I've even sung their praises. But to receive that kind of customer service for a mistake they they made...well, I feel I've been totally ripped off and don't want it to happen to anyone else.

outstanding frozen desserts. I thoroughly enjoy the ice cream selections at Bobby's, but I disagree with the reviews that rate the burger as good. I have tried burgers all over this area and find Bobby's burgers to be lacking, specifically they are too dry. Everything else is great.

This fast food and ice-cream shop near Richland Park is a local favorite.. In Short
This popular old drive-in box receives a steady stream of lunchers and passers-by. The 100-percent certified Angus beef double-patty could feed an entire family. Belgian-style potatoes get the double-fryer dip and coarse salt for great texture. Park your car, order from one window and pick it up at the other when they call your name. Most customers grab and go, but there's ample, shaded picnic-bench seating on the side.

vegetarian friendly. not only is bobbie's ice cream yummy, but they are the best vegetarian fast food in town. they have 2 veggie friendly burgers (garden and black bean) both of which are loaded with toppings. i love that they have sweet potato fries along with the standard white.... although i have noticed them to be a bit soggy the last couple of times i visited. over all bobbie's is well worth the visit. (i just wish that they were open durring the winter!)
