In Short – New England's lone Six Flags is a 12-acre superhero-themed behemoth with a huge water park that features a giant tide pool and a turbo-charged water slide. The 70-mph Superman Ride of Steel is one of the East Coast's tallest coasters, with a 221-foot drop. Fortunately for the fainthearted and very young, not all of the 100-plus rides are so intense. The park features New England's tallest Ferris wheel and a 90-year-old hand-carved carousel.

A Great Day

by cookiedaplatypus

Six Flags New England is a great way to spend the day if you like rides. They have a great mixture of thrilling, soaking, and relaxing rides that could keep any member of the family entertained. Some of the roller coasters have longer lines, but many of the more fun rides have very short lines. Every summer I buy a season pass (normally $55) and every time I go I have a great time.

  • Pros: Season passes, water park
  • Cons: Crowded, Expensive-ish
