The Scene – Slide down a hill in a slick inner tube for $10-$15, depending on age and time of day. (Note to adults: Don't be shy, kids make up only half the traffic on the busy tube hill). The Summit has some of the best night skiing in the state, with plenty of open lifts and decent hours. – – The Slopes – Summit is made up of four ski areas: Alpental and Summits West, Central and East. Best place to learn, biggest night skiing, Alpental is sick
by alpentalpow
Obviously that previous poster is either an idiot or they've never been to Alpental, which is most definitely NOT boring. The summit is the best place to learn and has the best and biggest night lit area, open until 10pm. The terrain at Summit west, central and east can feel a bit benign at times, but Alpental has some extreme terrain as well as a sizeable backcountry area, all within a 45-55 minute drive from Seattle. Not my favorite location to ride, but a worthy destination for so many reasons.
- Pros: close to seattle, has Alpental and great night skiing
- Cons: heavy snow, occasional rain, crowds
Convienet, easy, worth it

As a beginner boarder I have been here a few times. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Runs at summit west are excellent for beginners, advanced boarders seem to enjoy the freestylye park. The place to go for more variety is summit central, take the shuttle from summit west or traverse the mountain to get there. Snow was good, lines were busy but not bad
- Pros: convienent location, variety, night skiing
- Cons: , crowds
