Not the best, not the worst.
This theater is very close to my house. That is the only reason that I go there instead of somewhere else.
Pros: location, new movies
Cons: Old, some show rooms are very small and smell musty, I dont think they pop popcorn because of the low number of customers, I think they buy bags of it or prepop it or something strange. Never tastes fresh or good.
This is all about average for a Carmike theater though.
close, clean and friendly. We have lived in middle TN for 9 years and we alway love to go to this theatre. It always has the latest movies showing and seats are easy to find.
Very decent theater. We've lived in Bellevue for three years and have always gone to Green Hills but decided to give this theater a shot. Firstly, it does have stadium seating, at least in the theater we visited. Sound was fine, picture was fine, concessions were fine. The only downside was the--literally--thirty-five minutes of commercials and previews. We went to a 4:45 showing. Commercials (TV-style) ended around 5. Movie previews ended at 5:20, when the show finally started. So don't be scared to check out the theater, but definitely take your time getting there!!
I will say it has good parking.
To give the devil it's dues, there is good parking and the movies are (usually) up-to-date. The only thing I would change on the outside is the sign that looks like someone has knocked about four out of the eight signs out. I have used my debit card several times, the last time was when the machine was "down."
That was the time that it took two kids to show each other how to fix the popcorn and serve it. The line that was inside grew from zilch to horrendous.
It was cold in the theatre. I'm not going back - no matter what they show. I'm sticking with Regal.
Sorry+
Best theatre.... I enjoy going to this theatre. There is plenty of parking and I never have to wait in line for tickets or concessions. I never see a lot of unsupervised children or teenagers running around. There are lots of staff. I never encounter problems with the audio or picture or temperature. This is not a new theatre nor is it a large one. But I'd rather go to this one than one of the newer or larger ones with extrememly long lines and difficulty parking and large crowds.
Editorial Review. Located in the Belle Forest shopping center, this Carmike Cinemas chain shows first-run movies. Most screens have stadium seating.
I'll go there again!. The previous reviews that I read had me leary. However, I gave it a chance anyway and I am glad that I did. The floors are no stickier than any other movie theater that I have been to. I did not notice a single problem with audio or visual. That staff that I encontered were friendly. I look at it this way, I can wait in line on a Friday night in a noisy place, feeling crowded, or I can go to Bellevue 8 and go see a movie (no lines) without many frills, but, when it comes down to the movie, experience the same thing. For me its a good location, and they were the closest theater that had the movie I wanted to see.
Are you kidding me?. I come to TN once or twice per year to visit my parents and we often will go to Bellevue to see a movie. This theater was here when I was a teenager in the 80s and seems to have not changed much (or been cleaned) since. The unfortunate thing is that they tend to show better movie selections than the much nicer theater in Bellevue, so sometimes you just suck it up and go there anyway. This last time I went to see a movie I was astonished to find that they DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS (or so the very surly and unhelpful teenager told me at the ticket box) and also take no debit cards from Bank of America?! Additionally, the sound in the theater was horrible, the speakers have not been updated at all and I could hear whispers over the actual movie.
so-so. I go to this theater when the movie I want to see is not at the Regal Bellevue location. This theater has been around since I was little. It seems to be dirty, with sticky/slimy floors. The theaters are small, but never crowded. It would not be my first choice, but I do go there when I need to.
No luxuries, but no lines. Another mommy friend and I often go to the Bellevue 8. While the theater is older, there are never lines. I have never experienced any problems with equipment failure or clarity of picture or sound. The movies are usually not the first run, but as a mom, I am just glad to get out and not have to deal with a bunch of crowds or other kids...
