Fleece and soft-shells abound, tossed onto the backs of high bar stools and piled onto squat wooden chairs as diners peel off layers, greeting friends and comparing notes on the day's mountainous exploits. Service is youthful, energetic and does a great job of keeping the beer and chow coming at a good clip.

The Food
An impressive, rotating roster of beers, brewed in casks visible from the open, lofted dining room, are the pub's pride and joy. The smooth, semi-dark Monkey's Dunkel and the slightly sweet Pheasant Tale Red ale are approachable choices; those looking for something a little more unique should call for a Powder 8 porter or the award-winning Snake River Zonker Stout. Put a bottom on your stomach with a spicy brat sandwich with homemade mustard, or one of the pub's tasty pizzas, generously topped with the likes of blue cheese, potatoes, sausage or barbecued chicken.…
