In Short – The Salvation Army is an evangelical Christian organization that devotes billions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours each year to disaster relief, social services and other charitable causes worldwide. With proceeds going directly to adult rehabilitation centers, the Army's many thrift stores play an important role in furthering the organization's mission. Patrons of the stores pick through a diverse selection of moderately worn clothing, as well as second-hand furniture, electronics, books and toys at bargain prices.

Sad Christmas

by stlawrencemama at Citysearch

I am a recipant of your Christmas program this year, my family was adopted this year and we picked up our gifts about two weeks ago. I didnt have enough room in my small apartment for all the gifts so i placed my two boys gifts in my car for safe keeping. I woke up to a nightmare this morning, I thought i locked my car last night when i got home. I was very wrong. My boys gifts are no longer in my car, i feel stupid for keeping the gifts in the car now. I know i can call the police and i will, but what can they really do, i dont know what was in the gifts to really make a report. Im imbarrassed for my family and im very sad for the two boys. Its one week to christmas and i havent recieved a childsupport check in over eight weeks. I cant even attempt to replace anything. I believe GOD will be watching and with GODS help i believe everything will be ok. The reason im writing instead of calling is i feel ashamed for not being more careful with the gifts we already recieved. Thank you for listening. If anyone would like to call me to talk that would be great,920-681-0136.
