Established in 1896, this crisp, clean inn has become a Door County classic. – The Scene
Safely tucked away from Fish Creek's hectic Main Street scene, the White Gull Inn offers comfort and respite in a tasteful, refined atmosphere. The white clapboard main lodge has a cozy front porch that looks out onto the street where guests can lounge and visit. It's one of the oldest inns in Door County, and possibly the busiest; even with the four new suites in the recently added Welcker House, reservations should be made months in advance for weekends and during the summer.
Rooms are light, airy and decorated in turn-of-the-century style, with many of the inn's original antique furnishings intact. All rooms include air-conditioning, telephone and television and most include fireplaces. Lodging includes breakfast in the inn's restaurant, which is open to the public and also serves lunch and dinner. The restaurant also offers a popular fish boil four nights a week during the summer.
