The Scene – Cheerful blue painted tables and a prime setting near the water draw flocks of visitors to Shipwrecked's sunny patio. This place has been around in one form or another since the late 1800s, when sailors would stop in for some grog, a bite to eat, and a bed. Shipwrecked still offers food and lodging, and they even brew their own beer. (Take a gander at the setup through a picture window in the bar). – – The Food – The Shipwrecked's menu offers a family-friendly array of pleasing pub food. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

by LFJim

After three years of visiting DC, we finally decided to dine at Shipwreck for my son's birthday. It was the worst decision we made in three years. The food was terrible, my son's dinner was microwaved mac n cheese. The starters were frozen food quality. Not one meal out of six different orders was worth the cost. I could not believe my son's mac n cheese was $7.95, without a drink. They can't serve enough beer to make it worth the trip. Over priced, terrible food, but a nice location.

  • Pros: Location, close to water for sunset.
  • Cons: Everything else other then location!!!

Their chili is OK but I think it was the cause me getting sick later that night.

Not impressed. To much of a tourist trap atmosphere. locals don't go there if that tells you anything. I won't go back thats for sure. Their beer isn't that great

Worst dining place in door county!

by ines570

Since this restaurant was placed right in front of harbor park (which is so pretty for sunset), me & my boyfriend decided to eat dinner there.

They had such weird atmosphere becuase their crappy music, awful interior design wouldn't match with kind of customers..

Then we looked at the menu..Surprised!

They have all kind of foods.. from chowder, cheese curds, pasta, rib, steak, fried fish, burger, brat, & etc

but only One menu for each food! -0-

I got vegetable pasta & my boyfriend ordered cheese curds, Fisherman's Favorite, and Jasper bean..

Our cheese curds was just like the one came right out from those freezer section in grocery store..(cheapest one) it was very tiny, and very tough to chew..

Then main menu..Omg! half of my pasta was filled with not very much cooked squash & zucchini.. and it was green..-_-;; after a few bites (Since I was so starving..) I couldn't eat anymore because it was so disgusting..

My boyfriend's burger was OK to eat.. but Jasper bean was absolutely horrible..

it came with only half full of those tiny bowl for soup and it was not a thick soup what we expected..it was more like black water with few beans in it.. my boyfriend couldn't eat it..

With these horrible menus, you'll be so amazed how expensive they are..

my pasta was $11.45, burger was $8.45, cheese curds was $5.95, and Jasper beans was $2.50..

It was absolutely horrible experience at door county.. and I wish no one make a mistake to go this worst place in door county like we did.

The Details on Shipwrecked Inn

What to Drink:

Try one of the six brews, from the light Bayside Blonde to the toasty Peninsula Porter. For something different, quaff a Door County Cherry Wheat, not too sweet and with just a hint of cherry flavor.

Shipwrecked History:

In the roaring '20s, the Shipwrecked (at that time called the Harbor Point Inn) was a favorite hiding spot for mobster Al Capone. Underneath the building, tunnels (now blocked) lead all over town; Capone used these tunnels for quick getaways.
