Fabulous work with a *very* complex job. Joyce did *massive* alterations on my gown in 2000. She let out seams, shortened the skirt and created a *very* complex permanent bustle out of the train so I could dance the night away. She charged much less than they were going to at the bridal shop and she made the dress exactly to specifications. Now, I'm a bridal consultant and I would freely send my clients to her. Does amazing work!. I had the opportunity to use Joyce for quite a few alterations and dress jobs over the last few years. Like some of the other reviews I agree that she is slow. She does tend to put off dresses until a day or so before the big event but they are always done before the event. Her quality is amazing and her prices seem very reasonable to me. We were able to purchase couture gowns in pure silk for much less than you could find at any bridal store and also she will make just about any accessory to match. Her personality does come across as a little cold but I found that she is easy to work with and can make just about anything you can give her a picture of. That skill alone is worth giving her your business. I do not think you will be disappointed.…
Terrific seamstress, very affordable. I've had a completely different experience with Joyce. She altered both my sister-in-law's wedding gown and mine, my mother's dresses for 2 weddings, and a bridesmaid dress for me. Everytime she has done amazing work - and we've given her big challenges. (I had to have her alter a dress in two weeks because I was 5 months pregnant and constantly growing! She did it wonderfully.) The gowns and dresses have looked fabulous when she was done. She was always very accomodating and quick and was very reasonable in price. She had a huge amount of work to do on my wedding dress (including lots and lots of beadwork) and the total price (including steaming when it was done) was only like $150. Which is VERY reasonable for a wedding dress that needed a lot of help. I will gladly go back to her any day with any alteration. Don't let the other review scare you away. She's a very nice woman and does amazing work.…
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!. This woman was VERY rude and completely took advantage of me. She listed herself on the news websites as someone who wanted to help brides who were left high and dry when a local bridal store shop closed down weeks before girls' weddings. She conveniently did not mention price when I brought her my dress, and I assumed it would be the same or comparable to any other seamstress. BIG MISTAKE!!!! She ended up charging me 3X what other seamstress would have!!! She did not have it finished when she said she would and I had to make multiple phone calls and two trips the same day to get it 2 DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING! She had my dress for 3 weeks!! She said that she charged me so much because she put so much work into it, but I know for a fact that it could have been done for MUCH less. This was the last thing I needed right before my wedding. Take my advice, go to someone else!! I work with a couple of girls who also have complained about how SLOW she is and the high prices!!!! Horrible customer service, very rude to deal with, would not even discuss the price issue, she just got mad and huffy and made rude comments.…
