BOBBY NELSON'S DECADES OF DELIGHTFUL TASTES AND MEMORIES. I can the beat the dreaming of Bobby Nelson's sausage by a few years. I grew up in Wisconsin and in the early 1960's I use to go to Bobby's with my parents, I was about 6 years old. I moved to Texas but never forgot Wisconsin or Bobby Nelson's. It so happened that about 12 years ago I had the fortune to finally return to visit both Wisconsin and much to my suprise found Bobby Nelson's still up and running and still exactly the same. I bought some of that incredible sausage, pure heaven and some momentos. Bobby's is pure joy. I never forget the tastes and smells of that fine little old fashion deli, or the exquisite taste of that sausage decades later in my life. About 45-50 years now. WONDERFUL MEMORIES!!!!!…
Best Ever Sausage. 13 years ago we moved from NY to WI. On our way to check out the area we came apon this small sign that read " Bobby Nelson - Mitt or Mittout". Curiosity got the better of us and we had to check it out. WOW what a find! The people were great, the sausage was the best we have ever had! and the small store is like a step back in time! We started sending it to everyone for gifts and bringing it to parties. Everyone loved it! 5 years later we moved to IL about 6 hours away but would drive up to WI once a year just to get the Bobby Nelson. We are now living in NY again but found out they will ship their product to you. So we still send Bobby Nelson to friends and family and ourselves! FYI "Mitt or Mittout" means with or without garlic. If you get a chance CHECK THEM OUT!! You will be glad you did! They are right off 94 between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI next to the Mars Cheese Castle.…
Best dried sausage anywhere, great old country store atmosphere.
I was doing a lot of traveling between Chicago and Manitowoc. I love Wisconsin cheese. I had stopped at Mars cheese castle and it was ok. I saw this little store on the side of the road and stopped
at Bobby Nelson's. It was like walking back in time. Talked with Bobby for awhile - He's quite the salesman. Instead of cheese, I wound up buying an assortment of his homemade dried sausage. I have found nothing like it since. After 14 years I still remember and dream of it. I have since moved away and still tell anyone willing to listen of the tasteful delights of this little store. Too bad he doesn't have a web sight - I would be a loyal customer. However, that would ruin the charm.
If you should see this little place, by all means stop and shop - you will be delightfully rewarded.…
